Trusted teacher: A full course of one hour (60 min) with the possibility of reserving for a longer duration (90 min). My classes are mainly oriented on the connection with the breath, the anchoring and the deep muscular work. The lessons are adapted according to the level of the students, and I offer several variations: Hatha Yoga: general category which encompasses most of the styles practiced. "Hatha" means "perseverance", "effort" or even "determination". To be determined to achieve liberation within a certain period. This discipline is in relation with "prana", the vital force and its two components: masculine energies, considered as solar and active + feminine energies considered as lunar and passive. From there was born another interpretation according to which "Ha" & "Tha" would mean the sun and the moon united and balanced through the practice of Hatha yoga. The soul being the sun, constant and stable in its brilliance and luminosity, the spirit being the moon, constantly fluctuating and changing like the phases of the moon. The basic principle of Hatha yoga being to unite and harmonize the opposing energies of the body; the mind and its reactions. We unite the body and the spirit to unite the spirit with the universe. A Hatha yoga class consists of physical postures and breathing exercises. The postures are performed slower and last for a few breaths (30 seconds to a few minutes) to promote anchorage and stability. A real in-depth muscular work. Vinyasa Yoga: the Sanskrit term Vinyasa is derived from 2 roots "Nyasa" which means "to place" and "Vi" which can be translated as "in a specific way". Each movement is linked to rhythm and consciously placed to create a dynamic flow. It is a more rhythmic and powerful yoga which allows to link the postures in a harmonious way with transitions commonly called "vinyasa" and used in particular during the sun salutations. Here we retain the postures in a shorter time than during a Hatha yoga session, but we are still aware of our movements and our alignment. Gentle yoga: for people looking for relaxation, a stretching work inspired by Yin Yoga to release muscle tension and settle into letting go. I invite you to discover Yoga with Hope Arts Studio or to deepen your knowledge if you are already practicing. Meditation: work on the chakras; the 7 main energy centers of the body, often represented by 7 specific colors. During this session, we will focus on a particular chakra to balance and / or unblock it through breathing techniques and guided meditation. We will also explore mindfulness meditation, bringing the moment to the present moment, reconnecting to your “inner self” consciously and without judgment, examining thoughts and emotions. This practice is beneficial for relieving tension and everyday stress. Possibility of private or semi-private lessons in the studio, at home or online. I teach in French and English.

Dynamic yoga flows adapted to all ages and necessities. From Power-Yoga, to Yin Yoga, Hatha Vinyasa flows, Breath-work and Pranayama, always honoring ourselves! “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.” Destroy the idea that you have to be perfect at things to enjoy them. Yoga, art, music, writing, dancing, cooking. These are all amazing hobbies that serve our soul and natural human state. We were meant to express ourselves. So sing off key, dance like no one’s watching, give yoga a chance and be ok being a “beginner”, draw badly, burn a few recipes. Because life is meant to be ENJOYED. I’m done chasing perfection, these days it’s all about progress and letting go of all the self-limiting beliefs and ways of living that no longer serve me. From the very beginning, yoga inspired me to be my best version, to evolve and love myself and everyone around as I never did before. Yoga taught me to show up authentically without the need to belong, to choose self-expression over self-denial and embrace who I truly am instead of what others want me to be, life became truly magical, fulfilling, fun and most of all REAL. On our classes I will: ~ Instruct you on how to safely get into poses and how to breathe correctly, teaching also some pranayama techniques. ~ Design yoga class sequences, including vinyasa and flow formats for beginner or advanced students, adapting different flows to your necessity. ~ Demonstrate postures to you and support you also in finding the right poses, helping you to avoid any injuries. ~ Guide you develop your body and mind awareness, as well as physical strength. ~ Show you how to practice yoga on your mat and also outside it. ** I am always striving for progress, not perfection!

Trusted teacher: The modern world is a hostile place for our bodies. Back in old days our ancestors had to walk, run and climb trees every day. They did not use chairs, nor cars, nor computers. They sat on the floor, they squatted down regularly. We tend to forget how new our civilisation is. And that it is not neccessarily what we were made for. Probably your work requires sitting for prolonged period of time. You either drive to work or work from home. As the amount of stress and tasks grow, your shoulders start to slouch. Slowly your back gets stiffer and your breath becomes shallow. As you sit, your back rounds and the head feels heavy. Your back hurts and your neck hurts. The back pain makes you move less. Then your back hurts even more. So you move even less. And so on. Like this little by little the qualtiy of your life drops. These classes will give you the tools to get out of this vicious circle and make your life better. The world is as it is. We can not suddenly just walk all day long. We still have to do our work, we still need to sit for prolonged periods of time. But still there is a lot to do! During yoga classes with me, you will learn how to sit correctly to keep your back safe effortlessly while you work. You will learn how to stand properly on your feet, so your body gets a stable base. You will learn how to lie down well to allow your body to rest. With various yoga poses you will strengthen your muscles and improve body alignement. You will learn how to open the chest and to breathe better. You will learn how to practise safely and effectively. And very importantly, you will also learn how body and mind influence each other. You will get the tools to calm down the restless mind and improve your quality of life. Yoga practice is a holistic practice. Therefore not only your back, but your whole body and mind will transform. Whether you have never tried yoga before (nor any other activity) or you are already an experienced yoga practitioner, all can benefit from learning and deepening this particular approach.

Trusted teacher: Hi yogis! I have been practicing yoga continuously for over 5 years and started giving yoga classes 3 years ago. I am a passionate and determined instructor. I provide an individual approach and focus on the needs of the students. I adjust the level of the training to the needs and skills of the students so everyone can get the best out of it. I still develop skills and attend workshops, teacher trainings and classes provided by other teachers to expand my personal and teaching skills. I am a certified Yoga Vinyasa and Yin Yoga instructor. I obtained a certificate of a 200-hour Yoga Vinyasa teaching training and a 50-hour Yin Yoga teacher training accredited by Yoga Allience. I also completed Yoga Vinyasa teacher training according to Basia Łukaszczyk's original program and participated in yoga workshops. I teach mainly Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Yoga Vinyasa is a dynamic practice in which breath guides the movement. We will mainly focus on standing and sitting asanas and flowing transitions. This practice warming up the body, strengthens and stretches it. By concentrating on the breath it allows you to rest from the racing thoughts and emotions. Yin Yoga affects deep tissues, including tendons and fascia. It is a static practice in which we stay in deep stretching positions for extended periods of time which allows to increase mobility and range of motion in the joints. In this stillness we devote ourselves to inner work - directing the breath to places that need it the most and observing and calming our thoughts. Can't wait to meet you on the mat! Namaste

English with a Native Internationally Certified Teacher (Ixelles-Elsene)
Juliana
It is never easy to find a good language teacher, who is professional, but also flexible enough to meet the student’s individual needs. Juliana is a fantastic teacher, whose experience, knowledge, understanding and patience creates the perfect atmosphere for improving one’s language skills at all levels. Juliana’s flexibility and adaptation to – the sometimes hectic - availability of students is also very rare and exemplary. Moreover, her extensive world-view/experience helps to maintain conversations with students in any particular subject. Having language courses with Juliana is highly recommended.
