After many years of solfège and piano, I obtained the Conservatory's "Première Mention" certificate with the highest possible grade, "Très Bien". A good music lesson should include not only technique and reading sheet music, but also theoretical and harmonic study, improvisation, recreational playing with the instrument, and ear training and rhythm exercises.
