Stefan - Toronto, 0829€
Trusted teacher: Stefan was born in 1992 in Struga, Macedonia, and started playing the accordion at the age of 7. He studied accordion performance at the Music High School DMU "Todor Skalovski – Tetoec" from 2007 to 2011. He continued his accordion performance studies at the Academy of Music, Dance, and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, graduating in 2015. In addition to classical and variety music, he also studied Bulgarian folk music. Since September 2015, he has served as an accordion teacher at the Music High School. Throughout his education, he has had regular performances both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles at various concerts, festivals, and competitions. He has also actively participated in judging panels at numerous competitions at the republic, national, and international levels. His students frequently perform at concerts and important events, achieving numerous accolades at both national and international accordion competitions. Stefan also leads his own band, which specializes in performing Balkan folk music, and has performed at numerous festivals and private parties. Teaching Style I am an experienced, friendly, and patient accordion teacher. I offer lessons in classical, variety, and traditional folk music from the Balkans and Southeast Europe, including Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Serbia. I have extensive experience teaching both children and adults of all ages. The content of my didactic program includes: • Posture improvement • Finger positioning in songs • Touch and expression • Technical optimization, including both generic techniques and specific techniques for the right and left hand • Proper usage of the bellows • Agility and technical performance enhancement • Selection of the best songs to build an impressive repertoire • Finger-strengthening exercises, and more My main goals as a teacher are: • Encourage my students to be independent and creative. • Establish effective and quality practice habits for my students. • Teach musical interpretation and analysis. • Focus on conveying emotions and storytelling through music by emphasizing expression and dynamics. • Assist students in overcoming stage fright and building confidence during performances in front of an audience. • Foster student participation in ensemble performances, guiding them to play in synchronization with other musicians. Feel free to reach out if you're interested in learning the accordion in a supportive and comprehensive learning environment.

-- I also teach in english -- My lessons are for anyone wishing to approach the piano in a personalized way, regardless of the style and level targeted. I divide my teaching into equal parts between theory (melody, harmony and rhythm) and practice (all pieces of your choice), the aim being to offer you a grid of global understanding of writing and musical interpretation. I start from the principle that you have to have fun from the start, while looking for a high level of autonomy. -- About me -- Having grown up abroad (in the Central African Republic then in Saudi Arabia), I had the chance to learn the piano through an eclectic teaching. In particular, I was a student of Gulmira Abdukhalikova, a Kazakh concert artist now based in Abu-Dhabi, who made me progress by applying the famous "Russian method". At 13, I won 3rd place in the International Piano Competition of Île de France at Maisons-Lafitte. At the end of my adolescence, I participated in the Big Band of the Children of Jazz, within the framework of a festival organized each year in Barcelonette by Stéphane Kochoyan (who was also, at the time, artistic director of the Jazz Festival in Vienna). Subsequently, I set sail for Canada where I lived for six years. I co-animated several Open-Mics of poetry, as a pianist-improviser, and I produced two albums: "Fragments" (2018) and "Echoes of space-time" (2019), the latter having been 100% improvised and recorded "one-shot" in the studio. At the end of 2020, three years after having started giving piano lessons in Canada and France, I publish "The method of the self-taught pianist" as well as my own sight-reading manual.

Trusted teacher: At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. Openness, joy, dedication, creativity and passion for music are some of the things that you will find in the international environment of my studio. I care about who my students are and what they have to say to the world, and I will help them to develop it from the very first lesson. In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. Hope you can join and if so, I’ll be very happy to teach you!

So far my son has had just one lesson with Stefan, but he has already demonstrated an excellent demeanor, especially important for working with a child who is just beginning! He is very patient and encouraging thus far. Overall, he is a very good instructor for our situation! Update: My son has taken lessons from Stefan for about a year now and we could not be happier with him as an instructor! He is truly a great teacher for a child who is just getting started and well worth the cost!

Mrs. Denise has demonstrated passion, mastery and, above all, great versatility as a teacher. She has skillfully recaptured the spirit of a Medieval song with imaginative vocal intensity, while discussing in great detail the lyrical content, linguistic nuances, and the historical context of the song, as well as guiding me through the intricacies of the Occitan language with confidence and poise.
