Classical / jazz piano lessons and / or singing lessons at home for all levels
Graduated with a Diploma of Professional and Advanced Studies and a Master's degree in piano performance at the University of Montreal, I also obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies with A+ mention from the Jacques Thibaud Conservatory of Bordeaux in France. I have been working as a piano teacher for eight years now. I teach piano and music theory to all types of profiles, children, adolescents or adults ranging from a beginner to a professional level. During my musical journey, I tried to nourish my knowledge in the service of instrumental practice and pedagogy. During my lessons, we will cover subjects that are essential for me such as good position at the piano, flexibility of playing, stress management, bodily relaxation and of course, interpretation. My pedagogy is based heavily on this last point so that the student can stand out musically and find their own language while respecting a fair interpretation. I work every day to find a fun side to instrumental practice for the youngest while instilling in them the theoretical and technical bases they will need to develop their playing.

Music theory, reading and solfege lessons for all levels
Diploma in music education at the Royal Conservatory of Liège in Belgium, I teach music reading (sight reading, note reading, rhythm reading), but also theory and basic notions of harmony. All levels from 7 years old. Lessons on site or at my home (having a keyboard at home is a plus).

Passionate music teacher, gives violin and / or music theory lessons
Passionate about music, I obtained my certificate of musical studies in 2019, which marked the end of my violin course at the conservatory. I subsequently played in the McGill Beethoven Orchestra and am now 1st violin at the Philarmonie Jeunesse de Montréal (PJM). I have 15 years of violin practice and 9 years of music theory behind me, and I would like to share with you this passion for music. I give violin lessons to beginners or intermediate students, or even to advanced students who would need a guide in their work. I can also teach music theory. I adapt to your requests! Do not hesitate to contact me :)

Violin lessons for all ages in downtown Montreal
Former student at the Conservatory of Versailles in France in the class of Saskia Lethiec, I had the opportunity to be part of many student and amateur orchestras in Violin I: - Orchestra of the Sorbonne in Paris - Orchestra of the Universities of Paris - Orchestra of the University of Copenhagen in Denmark - Sinfonia Ensemble of Montreal Passionate about orchestra and the teaching of my instrument, all along my musical journey I had the opportunity to transmit my knowledge in violin and music theory especially to the youngest (10-15 years old). My method: As for young students, for me learning the violin must be a discovery in every class. The child must be amazed by the beauty of the music each time he vibrates his instrument. This curiosity must be enriched day by day during his daily work and I want my classes to allow them to learn the instrument in the joy of discovering their own sensations! As for adults, I want to provide them with the means to progress independently from day to day, always becoming aware of their body. It is important for me that the adult can develop his inner listening to help him progress on the quality of his accuracy and phrasing.

Découvre le violon et l'alto à Anvers / Ontdek de viool en altviool in Antwerpen
Trained across several European countries, I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in performance and have received classes through masterclasses and festivals with renowned international artists from the Berliner Philharmoniker, Nobuko Imai, Morten Carlsen among others. As an orchestral musician, I’ve performed with various national orchestras in Europe, including ensembles based in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Spain, and others. I currently perform actively as both a chamber and orchestral musician. Personalized lessons for all levels – from beginners to advanced. Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your playing, I offer individually tailored viola and violin lessons adapted to your needs and goals. Lessons available in English, French, and Spanish.

Voice Lessons for Young/Inexperienced Singers - Classically Focused
These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

Western Music Theory Lessons for Musicians, Songwriters, and Composers
Western music theory is a great tool for musicians, songwriters, and composers. As a musician, western music theory will help you communicate with other musicians. As a songwriter, western music theory will help you write songs. As a composer, western music theory will help you compose pieces. In this class, you will decide what you want to learn, and I will give you lessons and homework based on that, your skill level, and your preferred genre group (western classical or contemporary).

Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisation
Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible. See you soon! Richard PS: my specified hours are a guideline, if this does not suit you, you can certainly send us a message and we will try to arrange something :)

Oud and oriental Arabic singing lessons with an experienced teacher
Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies. Please feel free to leave me a message, I will reply as soon as possible.

Piano lessons for all levels and ages
A conservatory graduate and music theory teacher gives piano lessons. All styles combined (classical, rock, accompaniment piano, etc.) Method suitable for the little ones 4-5 years old First course without obligation.

Professional jazz musician teaching jazz, blues, funk, R&B, pop, rock, latin and classical piano.
I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.
