Trusted teacher: I offer you a new learning experience. To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset. You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise. There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge: When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next. When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster. Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. My offer is aimed at both teenagers and adults who want to acquire a solid foundation of the Latin language without the time-consuming diversions of absurd school methods. I offer individual or group lessons for Latin. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs. What is particularly important to me: motivating my students and help them establish a learning rhythm; encouraging their creativity; helping them become more familiar with the language; teaching them the letters and their sounds; strengthening their memory by training their phonological loop; teaching sentence building plans instead of memorising sentences; explaining how language works so that my students can become independent as quickly as possible. I look forward to meeting you.

Trusted teacher: A LIVING METHOD Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I will help you progress in Latin or ancient Greek, which you will learn as a living language: it will not be primarily a question of translating Latin or Greek, but above all of speaking it, reading it, writing it! FORGET YOUR DICTIONARY By doing so, you will memorize vocabulary and grammatical structures much more easily than with the classic method based essentially on translation. You will no longer spend your life in the dictionary, and eventually, you will read your favorite authors like an open book! LATIN I essentially offer a living Latin course based on the Orberg method, acclaimed by thousands of Latinists around the world. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I can accompany you on the chapters corresponding to your level of Familia Romana (first volume) or Roma Aeterna (second volume). It is therefore important that you get this book. If you want to work on Familia Romana, I also highly recommend that you purchase the Vivarium Novum workbook to consolidate your learning: volume I for chapters I to XIX, volume II for chapters XX to XXXIV. GREEK For Greek, we will use the Logos method. It will be up to the student to obtain a copy of this manual. A LA CARTE COURSES However, I am attentive to pupils and students who are waiting for more conventional methods, particularly in the context of preparing for the baccalaureate, the competitive examinations for the grandes écoles, or even the agrégation. Version, theme, explanation of an old text: all these exercises are well known to me for having practiced them for many years. It is also possible to build a course based on your desires (excluding erotic texts and magic manuals). Do you want to follow one method rather than another? Discover a particular author? Tell me! Be careful, however, to remain realistic! We do not tackle Xenophon or Titus Livius without a solid level. Do not hesitate to contact me for any request. NB: I do not offer translation services, and even less for tattoos. Thank you for your understanding.
Latin · Ancient greek
Trusted teacher: Latin is a rather subtle language and for some, almost enigmatic, as the style, vocabulary and syntax can be confusing. However, all it takes is a little "Ariadne's thread" to find your way through this labyrinth for the uninitiated. Don't panic! A practical method exists that will put you at ease when faced with any Latin challenge. The delicate syntax of this language will no longer be a torture for you and you might even find it fun to practice reading and understanding texts that previously seemed inaccessible or even hermetic to you. Reading, analyzing, understanding, and translating a Latin text is possible. And even - why not? - writing in Latin. As an experienced teacher, I offer you supervision (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Online, the sessions will be recorded, if the listener wishes, and the video will be available for revision. You will have the rigor that this ancient language requires, today more current than ever. Declension, conjugation, syntax will always be a passion for you, by following the method that we propose to improve your level. You will soon translate texts from Latin to French (version) and from French to Latin (theme) in a simple and effective way. If you are an intermediate (non-exam) student, looking to upgrade and fill the gaps that could potentially hinder you in the exam class, you will find the skills and experience competition to be sure to meet the challenge. Whatever your fear or certainty of the weakness of your level, our promise is to raise you to performance. If you are a student in an exam class, you will find, through various media, the resources allowing you to get up to speed and approach the tests with confidence, with the certainty of a positive result. The difficulties that founded your fear or your aversion to Latin will soon be nothing more than ancient history! Yes indeed! We have already supervised auditors online or in person with satisfactory results, using a method centered on the learner and taking into account their abilities and limitations. We proceed with a flexible method according to the level of development of the auditor/learner to avoid any dropout that may arise from reluctance or apprehension. For you non-Latinists wishing to acquire knowledge in Latin for various uses or objectives, this course will allow you to have a good introduction to this classical language. You will now be able to read and understand simple to complex structures, access texts independently to increase your general knowledge or achieve your objectives according to the needs or requirements of your activity.

Trusted teacher: Looking for a highly experienced tutor for Ancient Greek and/or Latin lessons? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a first-degree teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass their exams over the past few years. So, while I'm a former economics teacher, my language skills make me a great tutor in Greek and Latin if you're still in the lower grades. I'm especially good at translating, if I do say so myself. :) I got a 9 out of 10 in Greek in high school (pre-university education). I took Latin up to and including the fifth year of pre-university education (VWO) and then had to drop it because I had too many subjects. But the languages are very similar, so I can definitely help you with Latin as well. The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better. By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient! Finally, if I had to describe myself in a few words, they would be: knowledgeable, calm, reliable, approachable, committed and tidy.

Justyna is a graduate of the University of Athens and she is very much qualified to deliver Greek courses. She has great teaching skills and more than 10 years of experience in teaching the Greek language. Her communication skills are also commendable, and she can find the appropriate way to establish a very effective communication with the pupil. She is very meticulous and attentive to detail and she speaks always in a positive tone. The quality of her work is impeccable, and she has also elaborated here own teaching material (for example, PowerPoint presentations) to facilitate the on-line courses. I was very much surprised to see that even the Greek sounds of letters in her PowerPoint file were created with her own voice! With regard to the online courses, she has also the right technical skills to use the various online tools and software (e.g. Google tools), something which is not evident when working with other teachers. She is very flexible in terms of the time of the courses and she is accepting the various time constraints which may derive from the day-to-day schedule of the pupil. She is always in time for her courses and very accessible as well as reliable concerning all the necessary arrangements. In terms of attitude, she is very enthusiastic, an element which has a great impact on the pupil to actively follow up her during the whole duration of the course. She is also very dynamic in the way she delivers the courses, and she does not forget to praise the pupil when necessary. She is always assertive, independently of the learning pace of the pupil. Last but not least, I think she has the right ratio of humour in her courses in order to make the one hour passing with her as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend her from my experience so far.

Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.

Agnes is a great teacher and a very nice person. She is very patient, kind and attentive but also challenges and pushes you a little outside of your comfort zone. The lessons are structured, professional and fun, and my swedish improved a lot during my 10+ lessons with her. I would recommend her to anybody that is trying to learn the swedish language! Tack Agnes 🙏😊
