Trusted teacher: Hello! I am an English saxophonist, guitarist, pianist and composer / music theorist, currently based in Maastricht, NL. I've been playing saxophone, guitar and piano for 15 years and after building a life around music and creative expression, it's my passion to share that with anyone eager to learn; at any level. I believe music can bring so much value to our lives, it can excite us and move us, give us a sense of purpose and identity and ultimately enrich us in ways we would never otherwise grow. Are you a musician already, but you haven’t opened the door to music theory and don’t know where to start? Perhaps you are preparing for upcoming exams, or you simply want to spark your curiosity further with the mechanics of music? At any level, I’m here to teach music theory for jazz and contemporary music. I want to show my students the connection between music on a theoretical level and their instruments. And how understanding the building blocks of music can lead to new creative avenues through which to express themselves. It can be a struggle to know where to get started both technically and theoretically; understanding your instrument and what you are playing can help to facilitate real musical growth. As a conservatory student, having followed advanced jazz music theory. I can help at any level to further your knowledge and understanding of music. Theory is such a powerful tool for composition, songwriting and improvisation, let’s learn together in an environment that puts you and your instrument first. I offer classes from beginner musicians to conservatory / music school entrance exams and everything in between & beyond. If you are interested, feel free to get in touch! Looking forward to meeting you! Francis

Trusted teacher: Miss music lessons for children: In a class with miss music, you get to enter the world of music together with her best friend Mr. Cello Bello. Together you go on musical adventures singing, moving, and playing. Some of the adventures are: Music mind games There have been several studies made on how humans learn best and if I look back on my own learning development and experience with students over the year there is one way that has proven itself over and over again, having FUN! Yes, good grades are often a great indicator of how interested you are in a subject because we learn more when we have fun. Memory also works after strong feelings, which means that when you experience strong happy feelings they become memories that stay with you through your life. I always try to play in information and work proactive with my students, I want it to be easy and like to prepare them to succeed with what they do no matter their age. By learning step by step music opens up a world for everyone that likes to, yes, play. Music mind games are a creative way of learning that Michiko Yurko the founder of the game created to learn music to children using the theoretical knowledge in a creative way with colors, memory games, dances, and every other imaginative way of making learning fun. I have a certified education in music mind games and like to use it in my lessons together with new games I developed. Examples of games that we like to play: Hide and seek the notes ( a game where you can hide different things that sound, anything can be a musical instrument, but also to hide actual instrument is fun) Dance and freeze: the game where you dance and have to freeze when the music stops Bubbles, balls, and other requisite: Soap bubbles are fascination and a perfect way to play with music and play with the things we sing about. Through human history, we have learned through singing songs and it is a great way of learning about things by singing about them and making different movements. Listening and hearing music It is important to get to know music and listen to it not only hearing it. I like to have a moment in every lesson where we listen to music. Studies have shown that listening to complex music as a toddler really helps with developing skills as cognitive abilities, language abilities, perfect pitch, and many more. Through human history, we have learned through singing songs and it is a great way of learning about things by singing about them. I like to work proactively towards that the children learn: How to listen and imitate notes, rhythm, melodies Learn note reading Learn how to make music by themself, express themself through music Move and listen to music Recognize notes and accords Learning how to learn, in a music lesson, you learn more than just the subject music you also get skills like learning how to learn, imitate, listen, concentrate, curiosity, creativity, and many more. Learning music will give you skills that are useful in your entire life.

Trusted teacher: The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS. Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress. Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward. The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you. We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire! (For example, We can re-arrange the pieces and make them more original by approaching the system (CAGED), and enriching their chords, resulting in new positions, new techniques and new sounds, using arpeggio techniques rather than strumming for 4-chord pieces, voicing and fingerstyle techniques, in short, expanding the instrument's playing fields and playing skills to keep progressing in your game and improve your rehearsals ...) If you make a request, this program is obviously accompanied by the pleasure of learning more in theory and being able to directly apply new knowledge on its instrument and identify its common or rare use in the pieces discussed in class. In this case, the theory is translated to be accessible to anyone, both for those who are connoisseurs and for those who discover everything from absolute zero. The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty. I wrote and produced 2 books of my method to learn the guitar and the music, that I sell to accompany my course and your apprenticeship in the best conditions and so that you can continue the course even at home and to review etc ... . There is ONE BOOK OF COURSES containing all the theoretical and practical program of the year, as well as a BOOK OF EXERCISE on the ranges and the modes that you can obtain directly. You can find here an indicative list of objectives that I propose in my theoretical program, which can of course adapt to your request. The general theoretical objectives of the course: --- Tuning / tuning and knowing his guitar: * Standard Tuning * Drop Tuning * Open Tuning * Adjust the optimal tension of the strings * Adjust the shaft axis * Adjust the action of the strings * Choose the strings adapted to the style of play / tuning * Change his strings -Know his chords: * Triads: Fundamental State & Inversions * Tetrads: Fundamental State & Inversions * The chord progressions of the Range * Arpeggio techniques (tapping, sweep, 1/2/4 fing.shape, etc ...) --- Know his scales and his modes * The Mode of the Major scale * 3 Modes of the Minor scale: Natural / Melodic / Harmonic * Modes of the Pentatonic range: 5 positions * Modes of the Blues range: 5 positions Etc ... --- Technique to the Pick / Plectrum / Tab / Pick (Electric Guitar): * Alternate Picking * Fast Picking / Tremolo Picking * Hybrid Picking * Palm Mute * Natural Harmonics * Pinch Harmonics * Artificial Harmonics * Shredding * Tapping * Sweep Picking * Legato Picking --- Strumming / Hand Picking (Acoustic Guitar) * "SnareDrum" percussion on the guitar * Arpeggios pinched with 4 fingers + thumb * Rasgueado (Flamenco Technique) * Generic Strumming * Fingerstyle Picking * Two-finger picking + Legato for fast melodies (eg a solo) -Play the metronome * exercises on click * practice on song riffs -Learn his favorite songs * without thinking about the difficulty, nothing is impossible with the right methodology -Improvise * choose ranges and positions * to place oneself rhythmically, to finish on the judicious notes -Theory of Harmony * Understand harmonization and its practice -Theory on the Melody -Theory of Rhythm

Lou-Indigo

Lou-Indigo is hands-down the best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of learning music from. Having been taught by a number of music teachers for a variety of different instruments, I have experienced a range of different teaching styles and personalities, yet nobody has been able to keep me focused and captivated by music in the way that Lou-Indigo does. In the past, music lessons would always bore me, as I found that my perspective of music being an outlet of creativity would often be tarnished by previous teachers who took too much of a strict, structural approach to music. On the other hand, some other teachers would be too relaxed, often leading to me becoming frustrated by a lack of progress and direction. Lou-Indigo manages to skillfully combine structure, creativity and a relaxed atmosphere into a 60-minute lesson. I am the complete opposite of bored and genuinely look forward to every lesson. Instead of feeling drained after sessions, I feel inspired to learn more. In my opinion, Lou-Indigo does this by crafting just the right amount of challenge into each exercise, enough to give you a sense of progress and achievement, but not too much to make you feel frustrated or overly daunted. Furthermore, his clear explanation of music theory and guitar techniques, evidently backed by years of experience, gives you a deeper insight into music, uncovering the medium's potential for creative expression. I could not recommend Lou-Indigo more.

Giorgia

I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

VIOLA lessons for all LEVELS and AGES!! Don't miss the opportunity! (Rotterdam)
Francisco

Francisco was an excellent teacher, who firstly took the time and trouble to understand my problems which I had built up in my viola playing. He helped me explore the outcome I was looking for and we discussed how to go about it. He had fully researched the music I was going play and showed me a new insight in to the music we looked at in the lesson. His knowledge of technique was very good and he was able to analysis the problems I was having and discuss practical ways of adjusting them. It was amazing how simply adjusting my shoulder rest could affect both my sound and intonation. He also discussed ways of looking at performance anxiety, and thorough out it all was most pleasant and encouraging.
