I'm an experienced teacher, Master's in Education, that truly believes that music is for everyone. My classes are planned according to the aims of each student. I teach all levels: from amateur musicians to people that sing in choirs and want to learn to read music better, professional musicians that struggle with sight-reading, harmony or improvisation, I helped many students preparing for the bachelor's entrance exams and more.

Über mich

I'm Ines. A portuguese musician based in Maastricht, the Netherlands, where I'm finishing my Master's Degree in Choral Conducting. Previously I did a bachelor degree in Conducting and Music Theory, and a Master degree in Music Education in the branch of Music Theory and Aural Training, both in Aveiro University, Portugal. Before coming to The Netherlands I taught aural training, choir and orchestra in some Portuguese official music academies. I also worked as a music teacher in many kindergartens and provided a course for kindergarten teachers about creativity based on the interaction of music with other art forms in the day-to-day of pre-school children, called “composing in the classroom”, at Casa da Música, Porto.
In the Netherlands I founded the project SoundBox MusicLab to bring the music to everyone, reaching new communities and teaching new music lovers.
I started my music studies at the age of six, learning violin, aural training, choir, orchestra and, later, vocals and composition at Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian in Braga, where I continued studying for twelve years. From an early age I proved to be a very creative person eager to share my art with others.

I propose an apprenticeship based on musicality and efficiency. Technical, certainly, but always in the service of music, songs that we want to play. Because is not this the primary goal of the apprentice drummer / learn to play his favorite songs? Then: join a group, and be able to place themselves effectively on compositions.

Pop, rock, funk, rockabilly, soul, RNB, blues, country, swing, disco, hard rock, electro, and more!

These courses are intended for children as well as adults.

I put at your disposal syllabuses with course notes and didactic videos.

Feel free to come with your own requests! Except for the extreme metal: I have nothing against, simply I am not expert in blast beat and co, I can nevertheless recommend experts in the field.

TIMES :

I teach:
- Monday and Tuesday in Chênée;
- Wednesday in Jupille;
- Friday at Cointe;
- Saturday and Sunday in Baelen.

- Ensemble course and learning modules "How to play with a bass player";

In the lessons, we will be focusing on setting or developing all the required skills for the students to be able to perform independently, understand the musical language, and explore their own sound. Focusing on posture, hand coordination, rhythm, ear training, reading scores, and improvisation. So far my musical exposure in many different genres allows me to create a lesson that is adapted to the specific needs of my students. I have garnered the patience and belief in the idea that anyone can become a part of the music world with the proper amount of attention and guidance.

Since childhood, I have been passionate about music, singing, and dancing along to performances on television. My musical journey began in 2001 when I started training as a pianist. In 2017, I was awarded a full scholarship to study for a Diploma in Music at SEGi College Subang Jaya, Malaysia, where I expanded my skills in classical singing and violin. I later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Studies with First Class Honours from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, accredited by Trinity College Dublin, followed by a Master’s degree in Opera and Music Performance from the Conservatorium Maastricht, graduating with cum laude.

With 17 years of teaching experience, I have guided students of all levels—from beginners to aspiring professionals. Some of my students have been accepted into prestigious music colleges with full scholarships, while others have passed their piano and singing exams with distinction. I understand that not every student enjoys music lessons at first, and I take the time to communicate with both students and parents to find the best approach for each individual. My goal is to create a positive, engaging learning environment where students not only improve their musical skills but also develop confidence, creativity, and a love for music.

Beyond teaching and performing, I am a strong believer in overall well-being—I'm a yoga and Pilates enthusiast, a lover of good food, and an avid traveler. These experiences shape my teaching philosophy, helping me bring energy, discipline, and creativity into my lessons. I have been in the world of music since my early teens and have gathered experience with both violin and viola, even though I ended especializing in the latter, performing but also teaching children and adults. My several years of university studies have given me a functional and integral knowledge of Music Theory. Regarding Chamber Music, which is my life passion, I have studied and performed in a wide variety of contexts and places in Europe and America. In the Netherlands, I received my Master's Degree in Viola at the Maastricht Conservatory.

I am a classical guitarist in Aachen and offer guitar lessons for people who would like to learn the guitar as a classical instrument! Asturias by Isaac Albeniz or the Prelude BVW 998 by Bach are good examples if you want to see what it sounds like. I also teach Latin and Spanish guitar music.
I have been teaching regularly since 2015 and I welcome students of all ages! Can also prepare for university entrance exams.

You're in good hands! As a professional cellist for 14 years now, including as a member of major European and Australian opera and philharmonic orchestras, I welcome all students, from those picking up the instrument for the first time to those preparing for professional auditions.

My primary aim in teaching is to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect in which students can draw motivation to set and accomplish their goals, with my full commitment towards helping them achieve those. Getting the foundations of good playing and good musicianship right is of course a very close and no less important second!

During their journey, students can count on my patience, understanding and sympathy to help them through all challenges. I tailor my teaching style to fit all students based on their individual needs and wishes, or those of their parents if they're too young to decide for themselves.

I'm determined to break the stereotype of teachers being failed performers and teach not only by demonstration, but by playing with students as an accompanist or duet partner, even with absolute beginners.
