Trusted teacher: ABOUT THE LESSONS My lessons are for all levels and all ages. We can work on specific skills that you are interested in mastering, such as orchestration principles, harmony, notation software (Sibelius), Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), and more. We will work together to design the course that is perfect for you. ABOUT ME I am an experienced music educator and have taught hundreds of lessons ranging from beginners to the graduate level. I structure my lessons around students' goals while encouraging them to keep open minds (and ears). I am a graduate of Yale University, the École Normale de Musique de Paris, the Fontainebleau Conservatory, and the Royal Carillon School of Belgium. I currently make music in Paris, where I am a 2023/24 lauréat of the Cité internationale des arts and a Mortimer Hays Traveling Fellow from Brandeis University. I was the 2021-2022 recipient of a Fulbright-Harriet Hale Woolley Award at the United States Foundation in France, and received the 2022 Rosalind Swenson Fulbright Enrichment Award. I am also a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation. My most recent musicological article, "Overtones, Sonic and Politic: Octatonicism, Minor Thirds, and Bells," was published in Volume 71 of the scholarly journal of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in April 2022. Although I studied classical composition in school, I write music in many genres including classical, rock, jazz, pop, and film scores. I played the guitar and the drums in several rock and folk bands in high school. My favorite band is the Beatles. Outside of music, I enjoy making watercolor paintings of trees.

Trusted teacher: It is never too late to start or resume learning piano! My teaching experience makes me a witness to this. Perhaps you came looking for piano lessons because you wish to be able to play some particular pieces, or to develop specific skills. Or maybe you don't know what your goal is yet, but are fond of the sound of the piano and want to dive into this wonderful instrument. Whatever the case, I am looking forward to hearing from you and discussing your next step! I try as much as possible to tailor the work with each individual student aiming at the goals set and the student's musical tastes. This becomes more the case the higher the student's level of experience. Nevertheless, beginners are also encouraged to suggest music for themselves to learn. The work on pieces is combined with other important activities designed to develop finger dexterity, hand coordination, rhythmic sense, music reading, playing by ear, etc. The Cortot, Hanon and scale exercises are some of my frequent choices for the technical work. For young beginners, I defend a no-book approach during the first 2 or 3 months, for three main reasons: it makes learning more fun, it unlocks our creative potential and it allows us to explore the instrument rather confidently and freely. Instead of learning how to read right from the start, students have the opportunity to play games, listen to music, sing, compose, and improvise over backing tracks, developing the core skills necessary for any musical activity later on. After this period, it is then time to introduce them to a method book. The one I recommend the most is Piano Safari. For teenage and adult beginners, the activities described above are selected and adjusted, and theory concepts may be introduced at an earlier stage. If desired, graded level series such as the RSL Classical or Contemporary Piano, among others, may be opted for. Please notice that my scheduling may not always be up to date on this website, so the best way to know my availability is sending me a message. Feel free to get in touch for any other questions as well! Looking forward to meeting you soon, Rodrigo

Trusted teacher: About myself From the age of six I followed piano education. I studied classical piano at the Conservatory of St. Petersburg and then classical singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Along with my singing career I accompany various choirs and singers. I have many years of experience in teaching piano to both children and adults, for beginners and advanced players. How do I teach piano During class my students get the basics of piano technique, music theory and an introduction to different music styles. I pay a lot of attention to attitude, musicality and interpretation. By learning a good technique you automatically get inspiration and pleasure to play the most beautiful piano pieces. You learn to develop your own musical taste. During the lesson we play duos together for fun, but also to learn to make music with someone. Lesson for children I introduce starting children from 6 years old to the piano by playing and singing at the same time. Then we quickly switch to piano books such as the Thompson method. You learn to read notes, rhythms, correct piano touch and posture so that you can quickly play your favorite piece of music. Do you want to apply for admission to the conservatory or do you want to play in a band? I can help you prepare for auditions. Lesson for adults Advanced children and adults follow an individual program depending on personal wishes and level. The pleasure and happiness of making music are central. House concerts and stage student concerts. During the festive concerts you will have the opportunity to play for others and hear different music from other students. Info Lessons take place at my home in Leiden. I teach in Dutch or English.

Trusted teacher: EN below IT The most important thing for me is listening to music. If you are studying music as a hobby or in preparation for your professional career, we will help you achieve the greatest efficiency and get the most out of it by making our job easier. It is clear that learning music requires discipline and work, but can be interesting and expandable. The flexibility lies in the main features of my classes: My goal for my graduates is that they need a digital method that they have to adapt to their personal attitude and style. The offer of classes for individuals and private groups of all students and the duration of the course are also flexible and depend on the training of the student (most of the little ones that Suelen was able to aprovechar in the last media lessons). Classes can be in Spanish, English, Dutch or Greek. Language and music theory are presented in all classes, but in an organic form and with a lot of immersion in practice. ¡No people interested in contacting the site! :) :) EN The most important thing for me is having fun learning music. Whether you're studying music as a hobby or preparing for your professional career, we focus on being as efficient as possible, learning as much as possible, and having a good time while doing it. Of course, learning music requires discipline and hard work, but it can be done in an interesting and satisfying way. Flexibility is my main characteristic: my goal is to give you what you need through a dynamic method that adapts to your personality and your specific learning style. I offer both individual lessons and group lessons for people of all ages. The duration of the lessons is flexible and there is also the possibility of combining the lesson content between cello, piano and music theory. We can speak in English, Dutch, Greek or Spanish. Music theory will be present in a natural and organic way in all lessons. Contact me if you are interested! :)

Panagiotis
rating star
rating green star
From day 1 Panagiotis has tailored my lessons to my personal music tastes which makes learning the instrument all the more enjoyable. His lessons allow me to learn songs to build up my repertoire as well as providing some more challenging songs to push my technique and skills. Although I did not specifically start lessons with the intention of learning any music theory Panagiotis has a way of making theory accessible to everyone and I now begin to actually enjoy learning it, which helps support what I do on the instrument. Panagiotis is clam, patient and has an approachable manner and is very supportive throughout the lessons and provides lots of positive encouragement.

Giorgos
rating star
rating green star
Giorgos has continually shown in every class I've taken with him to have a very good rapport with students and great teaching competence, showing the ability to explain topics, questions and mistakes in a way that the student understands and learns from. He's supportive of the level of knowledge, goals and the different musical tastes of students, allowing the diversification of the topics and repertoire studied in class, thus creating an excellent learning environment. In short simply 10/10. Excellent professor! Definitely recommend him to those who want to learn or/and better their skills at the instrument.

Usha

rating green star
Usha is a world-class violinist and violin teacher! I studied from a young age and through college at a relatively high level, but had to put it down for many years once I started working. Usha has helped me relearn the fundamentals with good habits and regain confidence as a performing artist. I love how creatively she tackles complex problems, and how her violin lessons--though focused on music and technique--seem to involve big life lessons as well. I look forward to continuing to study with Usha!
