Albert is an excellent violin teacher. He explains things very clearly and with much patience, and has been great at adapting the lessons and schedule to what I want/need. He has helped me a lot with technique but also emphasizes musicality, and perfectly strikes the balance of constructive criticism and positive encouragement I think many people are looking for in a teacher. It is also nice that he clearly cares a lot about teaching. So in short, highly recommended! Thanks Albert! José has a clear plan of what to teach, and adapts to the student. Good tempo of new information. Emphasizes ergonomic playing, thus avoiding injuries and unblocking you to play faster in good time. (Spoiler: it's about releasing every unnecesary tension you hold). Pleasant learning environment (including a beautiful view over Ghent, and with Juanita the kitten). Knows his stuff (percussion, but also music more general). Gives you exercises for at home, which you first practice together in class, and then he writes them down for you in clear notation.
