All this is acquired little by little by playing specific exercises and solos, pieces or saxophone studies. Through learning the instrument I also suggest you develop your musical qualities which are essential to progress and have fun playing. By learning and memorizing melodies or solos by ear, you develop your ear, your sense of rhythm and your memory. Free improvisation allows you to develop your inner singing and your musical personality. Finally, working with a metronome or directly on recordings will help you improve your rhythmic ear. All this is aimed at allowing the greatest possible freedom with one's instrument as well as the development of a personal aesthetic. I started learning the saxophone at the conservatory 7 years ago. I started with jazz then curiosity pushed me to study classical saxophone for 3 years before specializing in tenor and jazz. I had many saxophone teachers (Eric Barret, Pascal Gaubert, Sylvain Rifflet, Sylvain Cathala...) and today I have a bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory with Fabrice Alleman and Manu Hermia. I have played the saxophone in many different contexts, often in jazz in small groups or in a Big Band, in classical solo or in a quartet and also with pop groups on stage or in the studio. I have always loved passing on what I have learned, so I have been teaching beginners/amateurs for 4 years, always with the aim of developing the pleasure of playing and regularity of practice.

Trusted teacher: Hello everyone, Μy name is Marianna and I am a concert artist and guitar tutor. I have nurtured a profound love for classical guitar since my childhood and commenced my musical journey at the age of 10. After attending the National Conservatory of Athens, I graduated with the highest honours. Furthering my studies, I joined the Royal Brussels Conservatory, where I undertook the Bachelor of Music programme under the tutelage of Antigoni Goni. Keen to explore different cultures and musical scenes, I opted to pursue further studies in Berlin, where I trained under Rainer Feldmann. Whilst studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, I cultivated a distinct passion for Baroque music and received tutelage in Baroque guitar and theorbo from Sam Chapman. During my studies, I provided private guitar tutoring and also taught at a state music school in Berlin/Brandenburg for five years from September 2018 until August 2023. During this time, I created and oversaw a guitar class of more than 35 students of diverse ages and skill levels. To complement my teaching methodology, I formed three guitar ensembles, ranging from trios to quintets, which incorporated chamber music. After at least twelve years of teaching guitar to several children and adults, I firmly believe that students should have hands-on experience with the instrument from their very first lesson, and at the same time be introduced to music theory. I follow a method that emphasizes the development of critical basics in my students to enable them to comprehend music and the instrument through theory and solfeggio, utilizing scores instead of tablatures. Depending on the preferences of the student, we can explore a diverse range of repertoires, encompassing classical and folk genres, among others. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked effectively and efficiently with learners of all ages and experience levels, from complete novices to those readying themselves for university-level assessments (such as Grade 8 ABRSM). I am proficient in English, German, and Greek, and possess a rudimentary understanding of French. My music studio is located in Saint Gilles, Brussels, and is open to all interested learners.
