Trusted teacher: Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo. Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory. I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs. Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score. Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom. I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training. Currently students from 4 to 76 years old are taking my lessons. Trusted teacher: Looking to improve your singing, gain confidence, and express yourself better? I am a voice teacher with over 3 years of experience teaching students from ages 5 to adults. I have taught over 40 students in all genres, classical, musical theatre, and pop, and have successfully prepared them for ABRSM and Trinity exams. I believe that singing is innate to all of us, and if you can speak, you can sing! My class structure depends on your goals and starting point. During your lesson, we will explore your vocal profile and your goals, and I will show some of the vocal exercises that may help you. You can also bring a song you like, and we can work on the vocal technique, text, and facial or body expression. You can then decide if we are a good fit for one another. A singing class for children is very different from a class for adults. For example, with younger children, we do more vocal exploration and movement, to ensure that they build a love for music and to protect their voice. With adults looking to audition for semi-professional to professional jobs, we work on building a practical practice plan for your own vocal gym. For vocational adult amateurs, we may work on more songs than vocal exercises. I have a Master of Music in Singing (Classical) at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and previously graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I've received training in contemporary pop singing style with Meredith Colby's Neuro-Vocal Method, and also believe in the body-based Alexander Technique method of posture alignment. I regularly go for voice teacher training to make sure I stay updated with factual, anatomy-based methods. Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. Ai is a wonderful teacher. She's great at explaining all sorts of grammatical concepts and she's sweet with a good sense of humour to boot. I definitely recommend everyone who's interested in learning how to speak, write or read Japanese to consider taking lessons from her. If you're motivated and do the assigned homework, you'll make a lot of progress in a very small period of time. It's only been two weeks, but I already feel like my Japanese has improved considerably!
