Trusted teacher: Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. **Class suggestions and indications** No experience is needed just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. Classes can be given either in English, Spanish, French or Deutsch. There are no limit for styles, bring your favorite music and I will provide a safe environment for your personal and musical growth. For Children I strongly recommend the 45 min class since their attention span and body development is different from an adult. Feel free to contact me in case of further questions. Qualified Teacher of Electric/Acoustic Guitar/Theory and Composition gives lessons specializing in the musical genre of worldfusion. Techniques taught on electric guitar: rhythm and lead, staccato (alternate picking, economy picking), legato (hammer on, pull off, hybrid picking, bend, strum, palm muting, whammy bar (hard rock, blues, far eastern-middle eastern vocal lines, tapping, sight reading, chords, arpeggios, sweep picking, Ebow, Bottleneck Slide, alternate tunings. Usually most students are interested in integrating and using these techniques to personify non-European music on the electric guitar, both on an equal temperament and non equal, as the electric guitar can "play" in both worlds equally. Finally, I use embodied self-awareness techniques (body scan, breathing awareness, etc.) which are found in Alexander's Technique and Mindfulness Meditation practices, thus helping to improve the student's technique and musicality on their instrument. Why would someone prefer you? My specialization is the electric guitar in the musical idiom of worldfusion, i.e. the osmosis of elements of western popular music with non-European idioms and traditions. The art of music is structured on its 5 worlds: melody, harmony, rhythm, form and timbre. On a cross-cultural level, one can equate each of these 5 parameters with a musical culture and thus unlimited possibilities of original musical creation can arise. For example, imagine a musical composition or improvisation with Indian melody, jazz harmony, Greek rhythm, in ballad form with rock timbre. My teaching can be focused for anyone interested in learning ways to achieve similar musical combinations. Also, due to my studies in the sciences of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnomusicology, all technical and theoretical musical knowledge is also documented on a historical and cultural level based on selected scientific literature that I provide to the student. All in all, together we can explore its worlds: A) popular music (rock, pop, metal, indie, blues, progressive, world music, ambient, cinematic) B) western art music (medieval, Baroque Renaissance, Classicism, Romanticism, 20th century) C) traditional and non-European music (Greece, Balkans, Ireland, India, China, Japan and Indonesia, Africa and the Middle East) D) methods of embodied self-awareness (Mindfulness Meditation, Alexander's Technique) EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Teaching private lessons (2014-present) Participation in music ensembles, bands and theatre performances as electric guitarist and composer (2014-present) National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - Department of Music Studies/ direction Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology (M.A.) (2023) Counterpoint and Harmony (honors) from the Athens Conservatory (2021) Poetry workshop "Takis Sinopoulos Foundation" (2021) Mindfulness Meditation (2019-present) Alexander's Technique (2023)

Hello, I am a professional cellist with a master's degree from the Royal College of Music in London. Passionate about teaching music and the cello, I have been teaching for many years in music schools (music ensemble XX, passion leitmotif), conservatories (replacements) and in the private sector. There is no age to start playing an instrument: my adult students show me day after day! As for children, they can also start very early at the age of 4 and a half. (A few months depending on personality and facilities) My students benefit from comprehensive teaching, whether they are beginners or very advanced, and adapted to their personality and needs. You will quickly discover: I am a very positive and encouraging person, which allows my students to progress with serenity in a comfortable environment. If necessary, I teach the basics of music theory and music theory, being able to go in-depth according to the student's interest and needs. Musical ear, concentration, physical dispositions, memory, ability to adapt, curiosity, musical personality: all these characteristics, more or less present from the start, will develop over the course of the sessions, and you will be quickly proud of your progress. My priority in teaching the cello is to establish true well-being with the instrument, both physical and mental, with patience, involvement and constant adaptation to each person's functioning. With the rigor necessary for learning any art, I teach you patience and the joy of paying attention to details. Beginners: By obtaining a healthy and comfortable technique, you will quickly create beautiful tones. Discover the secrets of this instrument with its sound and range so close to the human voice, and its benefits on the mind. You will also discover beautiful pieces of classical music (among others!) that are affordable quite quickly, depending on your investment. You can also come with the pieces that you like, and that you would like to play. This can give a good goal, additional motivation! Amateurs and advanced: if you want to go further in interpretation, or overcome technical difficulties encountered when learning pieces, or simply deepen your cello learning. Advanced: If you wish to take an entrance exam into a music school or conservatory, or obtain additional lessons for a cello exam, some musical and mental "coaching" courses can help you. I help you strengthen your self-confidence and gently repair your bad habits. You will also be able to meet others, one day if you wish, in order to create little duets

Mirko
My review is based on two 60 minute online lessons but also on communication outside of the lessons. Mirko comes across as a genuinely nice guy. When messaged, he responds quickly. Last night I had a small question regarding a piece from our lesson, that I wished would be answered prior to our next meeting and he answered in a very timely fashion and to full satisfaction. If you're someone who wants to build a solid foundation, then I think that you don't need to look any further. Like a concrete slab floor that needs hardening prior to further construction, he doesn't rush through material but makes sure that you're ready before the next stage. As I was not a total beginner, Mirko would start at the lowest or near the lowest entry point after I showed him a range of the things that I was familiar with. So a good starting point for me was a simple I-M rest stroke alternation exercice on the first string and he gradually increased the difficulty. He also introduced me to a short piece that I haven't heard before and right now I can play 40% of it and the plan is to play it fully by the next lesson which is a very realistic goal. When it comes to conveying techniques it would be too early to make a comment because as I already had acquired a reasonably good technique, we didn't focus much on it (yet). I will conclude by saying that if you're someone who doesn't like structure and only wants a taste of everything that a guitar has to offer but not really fully digest anything that is presented in front of you, then skip this teacher. I ,for one, am happy that I found Mirko.

Juan
Juan is as much experienced in playing piano than teaching it, what makes him the kind of teacher that help you learn fast and in a very pleasant way. Piano lesson with him aren't just about moving finger and repeating things over and over, it's also about understanding things through music theory and music history, which is very important to me. He has perfectly adapted the lesson according to my taste and level and also the way I like to learn things. Denise
Mrs. Denise has demonstrated passion, mastery and, above all, great versatility as a teacher. She has skillfully recaptured the spirit of a Medieval song with imaginative vocal intensity, while discussing in great detail the lyrical content, linguistic nuances, and the historical context of the song, as well as guiding me through the intricacies of the Occitan language with confidence and poise.
