Kids and adults Perhaps you want to surprise your couple playing a bossa-nova. Or maybe you want to become the next solo trombone at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. Everyone has different goals when playing the trombone, it is my job to help you achieve them. If you don't have clear objectives yet, I will be guiding you and exploring the possibilities of trombone playing with you. Also, especially for kids, I can help you find a nice pBone. They are lightweight plastic trombones made with great quality and available in different colours! Good technique, and a lot of fun The most important lesson I have learned in my career is that making good music is only possible when you enjoy the process. Of course, good technical skills are crucial but studying exercises that you find boring is not the best way up to proficiency. Instead, finding your unique best approach to improve your skills will get you to the moon! For improving your tempo awareness, would you practice with a metronome or would you rather use a drumbeat sample? Your health is important! Body awareness and breathing techniques Not only wind players benefit from doing sport, acquiring good posture habits, and being aware of their breath. It helps everyone in every single aspect of their lives. A good breathing technique will let you play easily, run for a longer period of time, or sleep better at night. On the other hand, body posture awareness helps with productivity and saves money on the fysio. Life hacks that you cannot miss! Improvisation and open-mindedness That very feeling of creating art on the spot. Only a few experiences can relate to it. When we explore and create, our flow state gets triggered. We are fully immersed in the activity and the world surrounding us vanishes. If you like, we will go on a journey discovering new emotions, colours, sounds, harmonies, textures, styles, genres. And improvising on them. Let's get creative! Technology in music. Recording and producing Let's face it, we are in the 21st century and the possibilities of technology are endless in the audiovisual field. Recording for auditions, producing and releasing your first single, live looping, use of effects... You can learn all that with me. Are you curious? Book your lesson now! Ok but, how will my lessons look like? Breathing practice is one of the best ways to start warming up. It will take the first 5 minutes of your lesson and your body will be prepared to start playing. Then, we would go into working on your specific goals. Perhaps, we are practicing music that demands improvement on the higher register, maybe we are working out different scales for improvisation, or it might be the case that you want to discover a new genre and go deep into it. Reading music, ear training, phrasing, music theory, buzzing and embouchure position, articulations (legato, staccato, accents), dynamics... These are only an indication of what we might work on. The final minutes of your lesson will be the moment to relax. We can get creative, play some tunes together, improvise, or even talk about a specific topic like musicality, art, creativity, technique, theory, or the music industry for instance. Group lessons and ensembles Making music alone is fun, but playing with people brings it to the next level! If you like the idea, I will bring you together with other fellow students for technique workshops, jam sessions, duo with piano, or whatever other activity we might find interesting for you. Alberto, the eclectic brass player based in Utrecht I am a brass performer and teacher that has performed in classical and modern music ensembles for more than 15 years. During this time, I attended innumerable masterclasses and had great fun in various professional experiences such as performing at Tomorrowland, an avant-garde music festival in Malta, or the great symphonic masterpieces with symphonic orchestras in Spain and the Netherlands. I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree in music performance and a master's degree in music education during my official studies in Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Playing the violin is my passion, especially when I can pass on my knowledge and love for music to my students of all ages and levels. I work as a team with you, finding the right method that fit your needs. What is important for me is to work on a good connection with the instrument and find the right basis for the start of your violin playing. In my violin lessons, I would like also to share with you my musical knowledge, show you recordings of great violin players, prepare with you pieces that you always wanted to play and give you the tools so you can achieve your goals in music. I like to share the general knowledge of violin playing as well as basic and intermediate music theory lessons so you can enter in the world of music, but especially to have fun!! Hernan is not just a good teacher but an exceptional one. I have had only one lesson with him so far, but I got so much from it, that I am looking forward to the next one. He went above and beyond from the beginning. He is very modest and professional in his teaching style, which makes it easy to absorb what he teaches. I would say I am an advanced composition and intermediate orchestration student with decades studying and composing by myself. I had been thinking about taking some advanced online courses available on the internet, but almost all such courses are really work-on-your-own courses. They might have Facebook groups available at best, where you can post questions. But they cannot compare to having a real teacher with the hands-on knowledge guiding you one on one. That one session was packed with so many great insights which I could have never gotten out of any video course or book. Only an insider of orchestration craft and the music composition industry could have such insights. I am looking forward to what I can learn in future lessons. UPDATE AFTER 15 LESSONS: I stopped after 15 lessons because honestly it will take me a long time to process and apply everything Hernan has given me. I will be applying it to my large portfolio of compositions, and I know my compositions are going to be much more mature and well-crafted after I apply what I have learnt to them. I have a completely tranformed attitude and understanding of music composition and orchestration craft. I thought it was simply a matter of learning additional material to get me to the advanced level of the masters. But I have learnt it is a whole world of nuances, subtleties and experience that the masters had a grasp of that allowed them to create at that level. Hernan has given me a good initiation into that world. I have also acquired tools and skills that will allow me to continue the journey on my own. Thank you Hernan.

Panagiotis
From day 1 Panagiotis has tailored my lessons to my personal music tastes which makes learning the instrument all the more enjoyable. His lessons allow me to learn songs to build up my repertoire as well as providing some more challenging songs to push my technique and skills. Although I did not specifically start lessons with the intention of learning any music theory Panagiotis has a way of making theory accessible to everyone and I now begin to actually enjoy learning it, which helps support what I do on the instrument. Panagiotis is clam, patient and has an approachable manner and is very supportive throughout the lessons and provides lots of positive encouragement.

As an adult, embarking in learning how to play the cello without any musical background is a daunting challenge. Hector has made the start of my journey a very pleasant and enriching one. We started with the fundamentals of music theory, have worked through the physical challenges of playing this instrument and continue to build on the right and left hand techniques. He is a passionate cellist who efortlessly welcomes you into the beauty of his art. I'm definitely happy to recommend him as a teacher.
