Hi, have you always wanted to learn to play guitar? I can help! From the very first lesson, we'll try playing a song and playfully learn all the basic chords, as well as some basic strumming and picking. We'll then apply this to other songs—with every song we try, we learn new things. This way, we build a songbook with all your favorite songs. Later, we can also learn barre chords, more complex strumming, and so on. I've mastered about 1000 songs myself. I'm the same age as Sheryl Crow and Jon Bon Jovi :), and music is my hobby and my passion.

I am a Belgian violinist from the Ardennes, in Wallonia. I have participated in numerous masterclasses in Belgium and abroad with teachers such as Emile Lavrenov, Liesbeth Baelus, Sylvia Huang, Bartlomiej Ciaston, Andrzej Grudzien, Caroline Poncelet, Lilia Umnova, and Guido de Nève. Drawing inspiration from various examples and broadening my horizons are among my most important goals. In 2020, I started in the class of Marek Kowalski at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where I obtained my bachelor's degree three years later. After that, I studied for a year at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf in the class of Solenne Païdassi, before starting my master's at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Alexei Moshkov, with whom I am currently studying. I frequently participate in orchestral projects and tours, and also enjoy performing as a chamber musician at festivals and concerts of all kinds. I have made recordings with chamber music ensembles and orchestras, including for film music. I have also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with an orchestra twice. I have recently started developing my teaching skills, which I find incredibly interesting! I enjoy every meeting with a new student, and it fascinates me to see the musical and personal development of each of them.

I am Lukas, a trained jazz drummer with a broad musical background. During my studies, I delved into various styles, including jazz, pop/rock, funk, Latin, and hard rock. I am a graduate of the Antwerp Conservatory of Music and have been playing the cello for 20 years. Despite my young age, since 2012, after winning many auditions, I have played in orchestral projects in 18 European countries. I regularly participated in music courses and workshops. Currently, I work as a freelancer and am an active concert musician and private teacher. We are starting a new orchestra school for adults at the beginner to low intermediate level. After a year or so the more advanced students may be ready to join the mandolin orchestra, 'La Napolitaine'. Classes will be held in the center of Antwerp, probably 7-8pm on Monday evening, and in English. The first two classes will operate through apprentices at the rate set by them. After this, if the student is accepted into the school, there the classes will be free. Space is very limited so students must be capable and dedicated! You will be learning an Italian-style technique and from the beginning will be playing in a group, sustaining a musical part, listening and interacting with others. The classes also emphasize developing sight-reading skills and ensuring that all students have the basics of music theory. Although it is not essential to be able to read standard notation at the start, you will need the patience to learn. You should either own your own instrument (for now mandolin or mandola, later also mandocello) or be able to rent one (recommendations provided). The class is intended for over-18s, and although there is no upper age limit, it is essential that students have hands in good condition with demonstrated fine motor skills. Our music will begin with simple exercises on single strings, and on to arrangements of folk tunes (mostly English and Italian) then to simplified 'classical' music, drawing on the (bowed) string orchestra repertoire as well as composed specifically for mandolin orchestra pieces. It will teach single-picking which emphasizes the rhythm, then the typical Italian tremolo technique to sustain the notes.

SONGS generally consist of chord and text lines. But where does that information come from and how do you make something out of nothing? How do you make that one great hIT or how strongly does your new song affect your love? Well, that's called "inspiration processing" and how does that work? Well, I'll tell you that in my course. If you already play the guitar or piano, you are one step ahead. Your instrument is like a trampoline that offers you more options to go further and higher. Most 'songs' are born at the craziest moments. A good songwriter his / her antennas are always open :-) and for some it is a continuous activity. During my course I teach you through all sorts of tips and tricks (including: Travel Chord Duo Method - One Four Five and minor input - Key Word Designation and Relative Chord Progressions etc.) how you can achieve strong songs. For me it is a daily activity and I have been writing all my life for others and sometimes for myself. All in all I have sold more than a million copies worldwide as an author / composer / performer. Is that little or is that a lot? I do not know. It doesn't interest me that much anymore. I want to share my knowledge about how to write a song with motivated people who want to go further than just replaying others' songs.
