Composing/Song writer/Music writing/Performing

Composing/Song writer/Music writing/Performing

I am Natalia, a pianist, composer, and music teacher. Music plays a central role in my life and forms the basis of everything I do: playing, creating, and teaching. At the piano, I constantly discover and develop new musical ideas. Composing music is a natural way for me to express feelings, atmosphere, and stories. Sometimes a composition originates from a small motif or a simple melody that slowly develops into a complete piece of music. My inspiration comes from various sources: life, emotions, nature, films, stories, and moments of silence in which music can arise spontaneously. My music moves between various styles, with a strong emphasis on melody, atmosphere, and emotion. The foundation often lies in the piano sound, but the musical language I use can contain classical influences as well as modern, cinematic, or popular elements. I love music that evokes images and tells a story, as if the listener can feel a scene or a world simply by listening. In addition to composing, I also share my musical experience as a music teacher. In my piano lessons, I want to teach students not only how to play notes, but also how to understand, interpret, and experience music. For me, learning music is a process in which technique, listening, creativity, and expression come together. Therefore, in my lessons, I pay attention to musicality, interpretation, and developing a personal musical voice. My experience as a composer also influences my teaching style. I help students not only to perform music, but also to understand how music is structured and how a melody, harmony, or rhythm is created. In this way, they not only learn to play the piano but also develop deeper musical insight and creativity. To me, music is a living art form that is constantly growing. As a pianist, composer, and teacher, I want to continue creating, sharing, and passing on music to I write and play music for a variety of projects where powerful and meaningful music is needed. For example: • films and short films • television programs and documentaries • theatre and stage productions • commercials and advertising campaigns • original songs and musical projects • live piano music for events and special occasions As mentioned earlier, in addition to composing and performing, I also share my passion for music with others through piano lessons. In my lessons, I guide students—from beginners to advanced—not only to learn to play the piano, but also to truly understand, feel, and create music. For me, music is more than sounds – it is a way to tell stories, share emotions, and connect people. Welcome to my musical world.

Intro to Electronic Music (level 1) - discover if an electronic music career is for you

Intro to Electronic Music (level 1) - discover if an electronic music career is for you

This workshop is designed for people who are intrigued by Electronic Music at beginner’s level. The contents and approach of this Workshop are, overall, not too technical yet, and rather more directed to enlighten curious learners about the potential career opportunities in the music scene. If you are considering following your dream of becoming an electronic music artist, but are not sure how to start, this Workshop is for you! Divided in 3 sessions, it proposes a raw and honest dive into the key factors and tools to consider when contemplating an artistic career in the electronic music scene. It starts by making a recap on Electronic music’s history, the main agents in the scene, and the importance of the various roles within this ecosystem. Chapter 1 (first session) also oversees the main differences between a DJ, a Music Producer and a Live act performer, their distinct practices, examples of the gear they use, and the unique daily dynamics they face. In the second chapter (session 2), it zooms in on what is needed to get started in Music Production (beginner level). Besides some tools and relevant concepts on this matter, session 2 will explore a DAW (music production software), and go through the basics of how to use it to start the first song. If the session is provided IRL, some electronic music machines will be available onsite to touch, to play and to record using Ableton Live Suite 11. The public will be invited to touch the mixer and get a feeling of what each button does; will have the chance to interact with the machines, eventually record their own composition, and understand how to start a basic structure of a song on Ableton. In case session 2 is provided URL, students may use their own gear at home in case they have it; if not, they can simply follow the flow as we do some exercises sharing the screen live. We will not dive too deep into mixing techniques here yet, nor will we finish the workshop with everything figured out - which would be confusing for beginner level. We will rather explain, in a nutshel what it means to be an artist in this scene, how to start making music, and which tools exist. The Workshop finishes on session 3 with a few exercises and practical tools, but also an uplifting reflection, meant to empower the visitor pursue their own path: “Which one of these activities resonates more with my unique personality?" "Now that I have a clue on the work that each one of them imply, which one is the best for me to step forward, and eventually kickstart my own career?" "How can I positively contribute to this ecosystem, and creatively feed into it?” "What should I buy in order to start my own, personal music path?" If you’re fond of electronic music, and willing to contribute to it - but not sure where to start from -, this Introduction to Electronic Music Workshop is for you. Everyone is welcome. Women (cis and non-cis), FLINTA and LGBTQA+ individuals are particularly encouraged to join. Expect an informal, safe environment where playfulness and vulnerability are cherished, where community exchange and collective learning make space for fun and growth.

Music Theory Tutoring: Learn to Read Sheet Music from Scratch

Music Theory Tutoring: Learn to Read Sheet Music from Scratch

Do you struggle with reading sheet music, understanding music theory, or keeping up with rhythm? Perhaps you are just starting your musical journey, need help with certain concepts from your music academy, or simply want someone to explain things in a clearer, more approachable way. I'm Maria, a pianist with nearly seven years of experience and almost five years of formal piano studies at Kunsthumaniora Brussel. Having taught piano for the past two years, I understand that everyone learns differently, and sometimes all it takes is a little extra time, patience, and a different explanation to make something finally click. My lessons are tailored entirely to your individual needs. We can start from scratch or focus on whichever areas you find challenging, including: - Reading sheet music: understanding notes, note values, rests, and reading music fluently. - Music theory: learning the fundamentals and making sense of concepts that seem confusing. - Rhythm: understanding rhythmic patterns, counting beats, and developing a stronger sense of timing. - Treble and bass clef: learning to recognise notes and read confidently in both clefs. - Sight-reading: gradually developing the ability to read and play unfamiliar music. - Extra support with music academy material:** revisiting lessons, clarifying difficult concepts, and preparing for tests or assessments. I especially welcome students who need a little more time, repetition, encouragement, or an alternative way of explaining things. My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where you can ask questions freely, make mistakes without feeling embarrassed, and progress at a pace that works for you. Whether you are a child, a teenager, an adult beginner, or a student who simply needs some extra support, you are welcome. You don't need to know anything beforehand, and you don't need to feel embarrassed about what you find difficult. There is no such thing as a silly question. We will work together to make music theory understandable, build your confidence, and help you feel more comfortable with music, one step at a time.

Singing lessons with a professional opera singer.Audition preparation and training(Masters degree in opera singing with honours, cum Laude).

Singing lessons with a professional opera singer.Audition preparation and training(Masters degree in opera singing with honours, cum Laude).

My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing. Whatever your age or experience, I’d love to help you discover and develop your voice. Let’s sing!

“ Mary has been great in our interactions. At the moment, we are meeting twice a week for an hour each session. She started with a class in which we got to know each other and she listen to my goals. Then, she prepared exercises and lessons specially designed to help me reach those goals with practice and also prepared lessons to help me continue growing as a guitar player. Moreover, she goes often out of her way to get songs challenging to my level, but that are doable with enough practice. In all, I am enjoying quite a lot of our classes and I am always looking forward to them. ”

“ He is very clear in explaining what to do. I hope I can practice enough so that the next lesson will be a step closer to be able to sing well. It's very awesome that I could find a teacher like him, who is also able to learn me vocal effects. He's a good teacher. There's also no stress need for his lessons. He adaps really well in what you can and what you can't do already. ”

“ As someone who loves singing it was very helpful in the very first lesson to begin to understand the muscles I need to use and the "spaces" I need to create to stabilise and improve my sound. I also felt she responded well to each question I raised, or issue she heard in the way I did the excercises. I look forward to future lessons. ”
