Trusted teacher: First, let's remember what we're talking about. Music is and always has been inherent in all human societies. It has many roles and is a very powerful language. It's a universe in itself... Music, and the violin in particular, brings me enormous joy every day. In fact, joy is, in my opinion, the greatest source of motivation given to us on earth. So, quite logically, I place it at the heart of my lessons. It would be an illusion to pretend that learning to play the violin is a simple matter! So I accept the challenge, often neglected, to do everything I can to convey my enjoyment of playing the violin. By the way, as I just wrote, in French you don't say "travailler le violon", you say "jouer du violon". So even though the road is hard, I will do everything I can to make it fun. My lessons are adapted to all levels, ages and profiles. Together with each student, I strive to find the most suitable tests, so that everyone learns as effectively as possible and, above all, with pleasure! I attach great importance to the correct use and well-being of the body. Playing the violin not only involves the cerebral and the emotional, it is also a complex physical exercise! For those who have already had lessons, I try to consciously or unconsciously replace bad habits learned with good ones, and for beginners to immediately install the correct automatisms. I give individual lessons. But sometimes I bring students together to learn to play together and perform in public. Attending other people's lessons can also be very helpful in gaining a better understanding of the various mechanisms of the violin. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my knowledge and love for music with you.

We are starting a new orchestra school for adults at the beginner to low intermediate level. After a year or so the more advanced students may be ready to join the mandolin orchestra, 'La Napolitaine'. Classes will be held in the center of Antwerp, probably 7-8pm on Monday evening, and in English. The first two classes will operate through apprentices at the rate set by them. After this, if the student is accepted into the school, there the classes will be free. Space is very limited so students must be capable and dedicated! You will be learning an Italian-style technique and from the beginning will be playing in a group, sustaining a musical part, listening and interacting with others. The classes also emphasize developing sight-reading skills and ensuring that all students have the basics of music theory. Although it is not essential to be able to read standard notation at the start, you will need the patience to learn. You should either own your own instrument (for now mandolin or mandola, later also mandocello) or be able to rent one (recommendations provided). The class is intended for over-18s, and although there is no upper age limit, it is essential that students have hands in good condition with demonstrated fine motor skills. Our music will begin with simple exercises on single strings, and on to arrangements of folk tunes (mostly English and Italian) then to simplified 'classical' music, drawing on the (bowed) string orchestra repertoire as well as composed specifically for mandolin orchestra pieces. It will teach single-picking which emphasizes the rhythm, then the typical Italian tremolo technique to sustain the notes.

Whether you’re aiming for official instrumental qualifications, preparing for music school auditions, or just want to sharpen your skills with focused, professional guidance – this class is for you. I offer graded drum tuition based primarily on the RSL Awards (Rockschool) syllabus, helping students progress through structured levels while developing real-world performance skills. With years of experience teaching RSL, I guide students through the technical exercises, performance pieces, sight-reading, listening tests, and theory knowledge required for each grade – from beginner to advanced. If you’re preparing for auditions or entrance exams (e.g. music colleges, conservatoires, or extracurricular music schools), I also offer: Help selecting and preparing audition pieces (including adapting pieces to suit your strengths) Technique and timing development Ear training and sight-reading Performance coaching (stage presence, confidence, dealing with nerves) Mock auditions with feedback What’s offered: Tailored 1-to-1 drum lessons based on your goals Graded exam prep (RSL Awards/Rockschool focus) Support for audition/test prep for music schools and colleges Development of technique, groove, musicality, and creativity Guidance on backing track performance and studio skills Other syllabi available on request: While RSL Awards is my specialty, I can also adapt lessons for those following Trinity Rock & Pop or ABRSM exam boards if required. Whether you’re working toward your first drum grade or auditioning for the next step in your music career, I’ll help you play your best with confidence and clarity.

Trusted teacher: My name is Carlos, and I'm delighted to share my passion for music with you, I teach classical double bass in Antwerp. I consider myself fortunate to have studied under remarkable teachers, and I am eager to pass on the insights and techniques I’ve gained along the way. My journey led me to London, where I learned from the esteemed Rinat Ibragimov and Luis Cabrera. I then continued my studies at the renowned Moscow Conservatory under the guidance of the legendary Evgeny Kolosov (who was Rinat’s teacher) and Grigory Krotenko, who both instilled in me a deep understanding of the art. For the past seven years, I have had the privilege of working as the assistant principal in the Musicaeterna Orchestra under Teodor Currentzis in Saint Petersburg. Now, I have happily arrived in Antwerp to work with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, and I am ready to inspire and nurture talent in others. If you find yourself facing any technical or musical challenges, I’m here to help! Together, we can: - Develop a relaxed right-hand technique that will empower you to produce a rich, resonant sound with ease, all while safeguarding against injury. - Hone your right-hand skills for impeccable intonation and effortless position changes. - Train your ear for perfect pitch and intonation. - Explore legato playing and various bow strokes for expressive performances. - Refine your musical phrasing to elevate your artistry. Whether you are preparing for auditions to enter a conservatory or an orchestra, or if you are a complete beginner eager to embark on this musical journey, I am here to support you every step of the way. I offer lessons in my cozy home studio or can travel to you within Antwerp. At my place, you'll find a welcoming space equipped with a double bass for you to use during our sessions, making it an ideal environment for practice and growth. I look forward to embarking on this musical adventure together!

Milica is very meticulous and a very good pedagogue. My son has prior knowledge in music, but not in the piano. She explains very well to children and adapts the concept of work in accordance with the knowledge of the child. I highly recommend her.
