Professional singer holding a Master Degree in vocal jazz and a Post-Master Teaching Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels gives private singing lessons open to all ages and all levels. I am specialized in jazz, but I am open to different genres from salsa to pop music. My goal is to keep my students challenged, but not overwhelmed. If you are an absolute beginner, don't worry, no previous experience is required nor reading music. And if you have already been involved with music and want to refresh or improve your musical knowlegde, you are on the right spot. You will learn a variety of singing techniques, personalized according to your needs, as well as your favorite songs, all this in a professional, but very relaxed and fun environment. First of all, if you tell yourself that: - you don't know how to sing because one day someone told you that you "sing badly" or "wrong" - you love to sing but only alone in the shower, in your car, or anywhere/when no one can hear you - you would like to approach practice in a way other than "classical" musical learning (--> music theory, scales, restriction to a single range, etc.) - you would like to gain more confidence in your vocal, rhythmic and/or breathing abilities - you would like to work on your "musical ear", your (stage) presence and/or different techniques of artistic expression (vocal) - you would like to learn more about your instrument which is your body, your breath and your voice in order to tame it and experience the ease and opulence in your singing ...and you find yourself (partially) in one or the other or each of these statements, it doesn't matter: there is a good chance that this course is made for you! Meet your voice. Explore the places of resonance in your body, the range of your emotions, the chants of your thoughts. Let yourself be inspired...exhale... Our body, this instrument - nay, this “nomadic cathedral” with its vaults, its alcoves, ... its multiple spaces of resonance - we are often intrinsically rather than intimately linked to it. The vibrations that we emit when we sound our breath, transforming into song, can prove to be a powerful tool in the resolution of tensions, the calming of the mind, but also in the (re)discovery of oneself through our body, our senses and our voice, this musicality that is unique to us. We experience the world on a daily basis through our body and our senses, and the voice allows us to share these experiences with others, both in its daily and extra-daily communicative function; artistic; poetic. But when the spoken voice gives way to the singing voice, Music allows us to go even further... Sometimes even to touch what is called the Ineffable. Oh yeah... Just that..! I am a professional opera singer, soprano, and current soloist at the Cologne Opera (Oper Köln, Germany), with stage experience at major European houses including Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Musiktheater Pforzheim, and Dutch Touring Opera. My background includes a Master of Music in Opera from the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance (Distinction) from the Royal College of Music in London, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from the Moscow University of the Humanities. I'm a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London with many years experience as a professional soprano. I've sung with the Madrid Royal opera chorus and the Radio television in Spain and am an established International soloist in Baroque, opera and Contemporary music. I love to share my passion for singing and to help singers achieve a relaxed and secure technique. I like to work on different styles so the full range of colours and sounds can be explored. My course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn to sing. This can be classical, jazz or pop singing. I teach online. I have students from all over the world - USA, India, Indonesia, Mexico, China, Germany, Romania, Italy, Switzerland etc. Beginners, intermediate and professional singers who have technical difficulties will feel themselves comfortable during my lessons. For me, it is important that after each singing lesson the student would feel he has made a little progress. I work with vocal exercises, correct and healthy breathing technique and posture for the first 20-30 minutes and then we move to the musical pieces - songs or arias. Repertoire will be chosen together with the student, paying a special attention to the sustainability and development of his/her voice. I put a special emphasis on expanding the voice range and interpretation of every piece.
