Trusted teacher: We give guitar lessons to people of all ages and levels. Beginning guitarists learn to develop their musical talents step by step, advanced guitarists sharpen their skills by taking on new challenges. With us you will receive pleasant and varied guitar lessons, always adapted to your personal wishes and possibilities. Children from the age of 5 are introduced to the instrument in a playful way and learn to play their first pieces using simple songs and clapping games. Students who are a little older are introduced to the secret language of music and learn the solfeggio they need for the pieces while doing so. Adults are of course also welcome, with or without prior knowledge of solfège. Every musician has his own learning path and can benefit from ensemble playing, perhaps as part of a duo, quartet or large orchestral group if the student wants it. At Mezzo we also know that each of our students has a strong individualistic learning style, that they respond to different instruction styles and study rates. That is why each of our students has direct access to their own time with their core instructor, so that no one is left behind or does not reach the full potential. Mezzo has a wide selection of programs to choose from. Mezzo wants to offer a customized program to each student. Take customized lessons and teachers with a passion for music, and you have a first-class facility that not only offers an ideal learning environment, but also an excellent opportunity to learn how to play an instrument with them. Mezzo is determined to help every student. We use a flexible approach to education. Although we understand that some students grow under a more structured arrangement, we also recognize that others do better when they are allowed to create their own routine. You only need to be physically present for rehearsals and lessons. Mezzo is a people-oriented institute with a focus on first class education and knowledge needed for exceptional performance. By stimulating the students to use the resources provided, we also stimulate a network that extends far beyond graduation. From helping with the recruitment process to working out a career path.

Trusted teacher: The (viola da) gamba is a bowed string instrument that was popular from the mid-16th to the mid-18th century. Like the recorder, the instrument comes in a variety of sizes, from small instruments in the register of the violin to large double bass ones. The best known and most commonly used type is the bass viol. The bass viol can best be described as a cross between a cello and a guitar: the tuning and left hand technique are close to the guitar, but playing position and bowing are reminiscent of the cello. Film buffs know the instrument from the movie 'Tous les Matins du Monde' in which the gamba music of Ste. Colombe and Marin Marais is central. The instrument is also known through the passions of JS Bach, in which it plays a prominent role. But the instrument also has a rich and diverse repertoire, ranging from late renaissance to early classical and an increasing number of contemporary pieces. I studied gamba at the royal conservatory in The Hague with Wieland Kuijken. In the meantime I have about 30 years of experience in giving gamba lessons to children, young people and adults, ranging from absolute beginners to advanced players. In addition to the technique and the interpretation of the music on the instrument, I also offer support in the field of music theory and the historical context of the music. In addition to private lessons, I also teach gamba at music academy 'De Poel' in Ghent, the Municipal Conservatory of Bruges and KASK & Conservatory of Ghent.

Trusted teacher: The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS. Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress. Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward. The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you. We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire! (For example, We can re-arrange the pieces and make them more original by approaching the system (CAGED), and enriching their chords, resulting in new positions, new techniques and new sounds, using arpeggio techniques rather than strumming for 4-chord pieces, voicing and fingerstyle techniques, in short, expanding the instrument's playing fields and playing skills to keep progressing in your game and improve your rehearsals ...) If you make a request, this program is obviously accompanied by the pleasure of learning more in theory and being able to directly apply new knowledge on its instrument and identify its common or rare use in the pieces discussed in class. In this case, the theory is translated to be accessible to anyone, both for those who are connoisseurs and for those who discover everything from absolute zero. The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty. I wrote and produced 2 books of my method to learn the guitar and the music, that I sell to accompany my course and your apprenticeship in the best conditions and so that you can continue the course even at home and to review etc ... . There is ONE BOOK OF COURSES containing all the theoretical and practical program of the year, as well as a BOOK OF EXERCISE on the ranges and the modes that you can obtain directly. You can find here an indicative list of objectives that I propose in my theoretical program, which can of course adapt to your request. Lou-Indigo is hands-down the best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of learning music from. Having been taught by a number of music teachers for a variety of different instruments, I have experienced a range of different teaching styles and personalities, yet nobody has been able to keep me focused and captivated by music in the way that Lou-Indigo does. In the past, music lessons would always bore me, as I found that my perspective of music being an outlet of creativity would often be tarnished by previous teachers who took too much of a strict, structural approach to music. On the other hand, some other teachers would be too relaxed, often leading to me becoming frustrated by a lack of progress and direction. Lou-Indigo manages to skillfully combine structure, creativity and a relaxed atmosphere into a 60-minute lesson. I am the complete opposite of bored and genuinely look forward to every lesson. Instead of feeling drained after sessions, I feel inspired to learn more. In my opinion, Lou-Indigo does this by crafting just the right amount of challenge into each exercise, enough to give you a sense of progress and achievement, but not too much to make you feel frustrated or overly daunted. Furthermore, his clear explanation of music theory and guitar techniques, evidently backed by years of experience, gives you a deeper insight into music, uncovering the medium's potential for creative expression. I could not recommend Lou-Indigo more.

Giorgia

I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

As someone who loves singing it was very helpful in the very first lesson to begin to understand the muscles I need to use and the "spaces" I need to create to stabilise and improve my sound. I also felt she responded well to each question I raised, or issue she heard in the way I did the excercises. I look forward to future lessons.
