Trusted teacher: Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education) Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide students in music as a hobby, as well as in music professionally.

Lydia - Antwerp48€
Trusted teacher: Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Mélanie - Floreffe30€
Trusted teacher: "I still remember the first time I heard the sound of a harp. I was 8 years old, my grandparents took me to a concert in the small church of Gosselies. When the harpist began to pluck the strings, I was kidnapped by the magical sound that emanated from the wooden heart. The longer the concert went on, the closer I got to the harp... After pestering my parents for a year, I began to study this magnificent instrument. It immediately became a sacred object for me. Thanks to it, I could communicate my feelings, laugh, relax and find the balance I was looking for." My courses are based on the Irish teaching method so first of all to the ear, on the resources that the student has in himself and on the fact that one learns while having fun. I propose a harp lesson: - Medieval dedicated to teenagers and adults for false beginner and intermediate based on medieval music and rebirth, improvisation, arrangement of melodies, ... - Celtic for all ages from 14 to 70 years, beginner level, false beginner, intermediate and intermediate / advanced based on Celtic repertoire and Irish, Scottish and Breton techniques After a few lessons, the neo-harpists will play short and simple melodies until the end of the journey to play more complete melodies that provide accompaniment and use of both hands. Lessons are defined on the learning needs of individual students. Even if I use the Irish teaching method, I will provide the basis for reading the pentagram, for the integration of rhythm, the foundations of harmony so that the student can read a piece of music independently. I live in Italy, so I come back to Belgium about once a month for face-to-face lessons (duration of face-to-face lesson: 90 minutes). Next dates for face-to-face courses in Belgium: December 23 and 28, 2024 For googlemeet courses (3-4x per month, lesson duration 60 minutes) see typical week. Do not hesitate to write to me.

Tine - Ghent54€
Trusted teacher: PIANO Foundation First we start with the music theory, melody and chords. These are the essential building blocks for making music. Style Next we apply stylistic tools to bring the music to life. This could include jazz chords, blues riffs, walking bass lines, and more. Skills We learn the skills (soloing, ear training, accompaniment, improvisation, lead sheets, analysis...) Following this approach, you will finally understand the music that you are playing, and you will be able to apply the techniques to hundreds of other songs. CVT COACHING Hi! I am Tine, a singer, voice teacher and vocal coach. I am passionate about helping singers to make the most of their singing practice so they can thrive, grow, and become the powerful performers and communicators the world needs today. I can help you train your voice and keep it healthy, develop your own unique sound, sing across different styles, manage performance anxiety, be authentic on stage, deliver powerful presentations, make more efficient goals and help you reach them. It is possible to create all the sounds from all the styles / genres in a healthy way! CVT METHOD? Singing is not that difficult and everybody can learn to sing. CVT divideds the singing techniques into four main subjects. By combining elements of these four subjects, you can produce precisely the sounds you want. You will also be able to pinpoint your specific problems and mistakes, and you can focus on which techniques you wish to work on. The four main subjects are: The three overall principles – to ensure healthy sound production The four vocal modes – to choose the ‘gear’ you want to sing in. Sound colours – to make the sound lighter or darker. Effects – to achieve specific sound effects.

Alex - Rotterdam56€
Trusted teacher: Alex has a bachelor's degree from the Rotterdam Codarts conservatory. Besides that he also obtained a diploma in pedagogy at the Amsterdam conservatory. This combination makes it possible for Alex to convey his knowledge of music to his students in a pleasant way. Alex has enough experience, he has more than 10 years of experience in teaching music in music in Rotterdam and its surroundings. He has gained this experience by giving private lessons and classes at various music schools. Alex excels in providing acoustic guitar lessons and music theory lessons. If you are looking for the best guitar lessons in the Rotterdam area, then Alex is the right address. Read more on his website to get an impression of the lessons and the teacher. Alex's priorities through the lessons are development, motivation and interest. It's very important that there is a constructive evolution in the pupil's playing, a constant will to move forward, as well as pieces/songs that inspire him or her. It's important that the pupils learn through an efficient and personal method, but also through their own interest and repertoire (wishlist). In a teaching lesson the focus is put on : - guitar posture, technique and sound - timing and rhythmic feel - strumming and grooves - interpretation - theory and knowledge of music - improvisation - repertoire (on student's wishlist) There are three dimensions to a student's programme : scores, tutorials and coaching. Having a Master's degree in Jazz composition (Rotterdam), Alex designs the scores himself, making arrangements of pieces / songs in an accessible way, along with his method and exercises for guitar technique. The scores are written with a hybrid notation (music notation and tab notation), and with all the information necessary about the right and left hand. After having agreed on the pieces / songs to be worked on, the relevant score is shared and given at the lesson. The teacher goes through it, while he also plays it live to the pupil for even more reach. He then explains what needs to be clarified in order to prepare any homework. Finally, Alex creates a video tutorial about the piece or song that needs to be learned for the next lesson. This gives extra support when practising at home, in order to avoid any doubt and keep motivation up. A report is then created to keep track of what has been done as well as what needs to be worked on, in order to unlock technical requirements and complete a specific repertoire in a constructive and efficient way. Alex teaches in Rotterdam at home or at the pupil's own location ; lessons are in Dutch, English or French, for all ages and levels. The teacher mainly gives live lessons, where he works with his pupils on specific material (technique and repertoire). If for any reason a live lesson can't take place, it is of course possible to follow an online lesson. Lessons last 30 minutes or 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.

Your kind words and detailed feedback mean the world to me and encourage me to continue sharing my passion for music. - About the Negative Comment - Regarding the only negative review: The student in question missed their first class due to sleeping in. Despite the platform's policy stating that no refunds are given for unannounced absences, I offered to provide a free replacement class at my earliest availability after the busy holiday season. Unfortunately, the student declined the date I proposed and suggested days that were outside my schedule. I had to suspend communication due to other commitments. Trusted teacher: Do you want to know the register of your voice? Be able to sing the highest notes without hurting your voice? Learn how to do the passing notes? Be able to have a powerful but also agile voice? I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer and singing teacher with 20 years of experience in music. I offer singing lessons at all levels. My lessons are aimed at developing body, muscular and vocal awareness that helps to perceive and consider our body as a musical instrument. My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse study paths followed. The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to the musical repertoire and learning the musical language (jazz or pop or other genre). The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of abdominal muscles, to the emission of air to the resonance cavities. We will work on the sound, on the extension of the voice, on the high and low notes, on the passage of register, on the control, on the power and agility. From a repertoire perspective, the course will be tailored to the student's needs or interests, with an eye to the proper attitude to have while singing and on stage. I can prepare the student for the conservatory entrance exam and any form of audition. If the student wishes, I can give him/her notions of harmony and music reading.

Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. Grazie!

First, she is an excellent musician. Second she is a patient, and an understanding teacher, who by nature is going to try to do her best to help you out. You feel confident with her and you know you are not going to be humiliated and belittled. She is there to support you. After two years of learning music with Pr Yantong Lin, I can hardly imagine how much she "enriched my life". She made me discover the beauty and subtlety of the music. She made me think musically and not just play notes, and made me discover the "intellectual fondation and beauty of music" that is harmony. My private violin lesson with Ester was absolutely perfect. I had a privilege to hear Ester play her violin and she is so good- it is crazy to think I was able to learn from her. She is also such a good teacher. Full of knowlege and patience- which is, in my opinion, a rare combination. I had no prior musical education and this was my first real music lesson. Ester managed to teach me basic note reading, correct violin holding and even playing my first tunes. Her explainations are very clear and easy to understand. And her approach is very friendly. She is also a very nice person and easy to talk to. I wish we lived in the same city so I could keep studying playing violin with Ester- that's how good she is. Lidia
