GCSE and IGCSE Chemistry Tuition covers teaching and revising theoretical and practical aspects of the exam specification. Electronic resources, practice exam questions and video clips to consolidate the development of practical skills are covered in lessons. I base my tutoring on the student's needs, developing their prior knowledge, building confidence in their learning and problem solving skills whilst developing exam technique. At the moment all tuition is at my home or is online using Skype or Zoom for audio and a video link. I use an interactive whiteboard that permits PDF/Power Point slides and electronic documents to be used during lessons. A PDF of all the pages is downloaded for students to help them with note taking and as for revision in the future. Additional help sheets and practice questions can be supplied to help with developing learning and exam technique. I develop the student's learning experience at school and provide additional resources and practice questions. My students are encouraged to develop their knowledge and an appreciation of what examiners require by developing their assessment for learning skills. I enjoy tutoring and my students have all benefited enormously from individualised support in preparation for their examinations. Tutees enjoy their tutorial style lessons which are normally 1 hour in duration, but longer times can be arranged if required. Group tuition can be arranged and a sliding scale for the tuition fee will be applied depending on the number of students involved.

I am a professional musician and educator, with international experience as a Violin/Viola/ Chamber Music/Theory teacher, soloist, orchestra leader, chamber musician, and jury member. I have graduated in Violin at the Conservatory of Music "G.P. da Palestrina" of Cagliari- Italy and in Viola at the Conservatory of Music "G. Verdi" of Milan-Italy. My professional activity led me to work in several orchestras as performer, and in various music schools as upper- string and chamber music teacher. I lived and worked in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and since 2012 I made London my home, where I developed further teaching experience within the British system. I have also founded "The Geminiani Project" of which I am the director and the leader of the Camerata Geminiani, ensemble that has been invited to perform in England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden. At the same time I have established my ensemble, I have also launched the Geminiani Youth Orchestra (formed by young musicians aged 6 to 17 years old) as I believe in the importance of giving an opportunity to young players to perform together, and the amateur ensemble Hampton Chamber Orchestra; we performed with both orchestras at various venues in London. Regarding my teaching technique, I believe that each student is different and unique, so the first thing I try to do is to establish a connection, then I try to understand the major skills and major difficulties of the student in order to develop a personalised system; I pay much importance also to the emotional aspect the student is dealing with in order to build passion and love for music. I strongly believe that, once achieved a technical skill, the student must have the chance to play with the teacher and with other students, and feel the excitement of making music together. I have experience in preparing students for auditions, competitions, or ABRSM/Trinity exams with excellent results; I love what I do and I love to see my pupils achieving high level results. Some of my students have been awarded at international competitions, some other former students are covering leading roles in international orchestras or in chamber ensembles.

Hello, I’m Sam. I’m currently an University student at Exeter University, studying Economics. I recently left KCS, Wimbledon with three A-Levels (Maths A*, Economics A*, Latin A). I’m keen to tutor students at A-Level or below in either Maths or GCSE or below in Latin. I achieved grade 9s in Maths, Further Maths and Latin at iGCSE. I have experienced tutoring students aged 8-16 over the last 4 years in Maths and Latin, both online and in person. I have further experience working with children having coached football, rugby and cricket for the last 4 years. I am a very flexible tutor, and am happy to teach whatever my student needs most that session, whether it be a homework or concept they don’t quite understand, or revision for an upcoming test. I have a deep understanding of current curriculums, having studied them across various exam boards not too long ago. During sessions, I'd start be seeing where my tutee has been struggling or making mistakes, before walking through practice questions with them, to see how their current level of understanding translates into real, exam-style questions. I aim for my tutees to take the front seat during sessions, in order that they are doing all the critical thinking, in order to help them practise without my help. I may also set a few short homeworks to ensure my tutees are consolidating what they have learnt, and don't forget it all by the time our next session comes around! My main aim is for my tutees to enjoy the subject! By enjoying it, you will be more inclined to concentrate, and put the work in to achieve their potential by the time exam season comes around. I believe that no matter how a student has performed in their subject in previous years, I can help them achieve the highest grades in their exams, and I will not settle for less!
