The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject. Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. If you would like, I would be more than happy to share some knowledge of music theory along with the violin lessons. Lessons are private and not in groups.

Hi, I'm Heewon from South Korea. I'm a graduate of the HKU Conservatory's Jazz & Pop department, majoring in jazz piano, though alongside that, I've continued studying classical piano, as well as composition and arranging. For over 6 years, I've taught students ranging from young children (6 to 7 years old) to adults in their 50s and beyond, covering genres from jazz and pop to classical and new age, along with music theory. I've also performed extensively in both South Korea and the Netherlands, at festivals, jazz bars, and government related events, playing not only jazz standards but my own arrangements and original compositions. I believe music is something we simply can't live without today. It surrounds us everywhere we go, woven into daily life. That's exactly why piano makes such a wonderful hobby: it's approachable, deeply rewarding, and a great way to relieve stress. How amazing is it to be able to play the music that lives in your head? My lessons are open to all skill levels and are held in English or basic Dutch. Before we begin, I always start with a consultation to understand what you want out of piano, your goals, interests, and preferred style, and build lessons and materials around that. Tailor made lessons suited to your level and goals: - For beginners, we'll cover basic piano technique, fundamental music theory, and sheet music reading. - For intermediate and advanced students, lessons are shaped around your specific needs and wishes (for example improvisation, accompaniment, arranging, and more). Hello! I am Irene, a graduated Master student at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium, and I offer cello lessons to people of all ages, both online and in person. I have more than 7 years of experience teaching both adults and children, in private lessons, group lessons and music schools. I have also taught music theory and piano to beginners. The lessons could work in different ways: regular lessons every one or two weeks, or just a couple of times, etc. I have had students that only wanted to learn a bit, and I also have students that have continued for some years with me. I could also adjust the duration of the lessons from 30mins (especially for younger kids) to 1h. The lessons can be in English and Spanish, and now also in Nederlands! (work in progress!) Singing in French is no easy task, but as a native speaker and opera singer, I can help you! We work on pronunciation together, first working on spoken text: getting acquainted with the French sounds and accent and working on how to make sure it sounds French even to a native French! When that's working well, we apply it to the singing. If you want to practice on your own, I can record the text for you. I can also help with you with the translation of a piece or questions you may have about a certain word, a saying or the subtext of a piece.

In recent years, I have also received further training in singing techniques for pop songs and musical theatre songs. I followed the CVT basic course and the Tools for Teachers training at Cordula Klein Goldewijk.
