I am a qualified singing tutor and teacher of music - Graduated First Class in my Bachelor of Music (Hons) Degree and achieved my Post-Graduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching. This allows me to use my skill, knowledge and expertise in both singing and vocal pedagogy to inform your lessons and guide you towards a sustainable and healthy way of singing. I offer one-to-one singing lessons to those interested in taking exams, finding confidence or just someone wanting to pick up a new skill! Lessons will be tailored to your needs, feedback will be personalised and consistent so that we work together towards your goals.

As a recent graduate of Mountview and having worked in the industry for five years, I would love to now share my passion for singing! I have been singing for twelve years now and have had many amazing opportunities as a professional vocalist. I started as a pop singer but, in recent years, I have turned towards musical theater. As a performer, it is very important to be able to sing different genres of music. Therefore, I am able to help my students in whatever genre they need through my experience and knowledge. Whether you want to sing the latest Olivia Rodrigo song or are a big fan of Les Miserables, I can provide you with guidance into getting the sound that you want. In my classes, I would like to give the student as much freedom as possible. The student can bring a song they would like to work on or I can suggest material. We will explore different methods and find out what works best for you! Dependent on the level and what the student wants from the lessons, we can also talk about the anatomy of body and why we use certain methods to reach those hard notes. My passion in singing is to help students sing the songs they want to without damaging themselves and in a safe and fun environment where making mistakes is encouraged! I can also provide tips and tricks for those looking to incorporate their acting skills into singing. My classes are open to all ages and levels. I have five years of experience working with children and teenagers through being an actor and workshop leader on Theatre In Education tours. Recently I started working as an after school drama club teacher and producer and realized how much I enjoyed sharing and working with others on the skills of a singer and performer.

Sara’s teaching is primarily based on the Estill Model (Level 1 & 2 training by Stephanie Marko & Charlotte Xerri). This model focuses on different structures of the voice in isolation, before combining and manipulating them to form a desired voice quality. Lessons delve into effective techniques used by pop, musical theatre, jazz, classical and opera singers, such as: ‘speech’, ‘twang’, ‘belt’ and ‘sob’. I base my technique in classical vocal training but can teach l genres (opera, pop, musical theatre, jazz, classical) My goal is to bring out the natural colours of your voice while teaching healthy breath control and resonance balancing. My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing. I've sung with the Madrid Royal opera chorus and the Radio television in Spain and am an established International soloist in Baroque, opera and Contemporary music. You choose the songs, artists, or styles you love, and we'll work together so you can learn to play and accompany them on the guitar. You'll learn chords, chord changes, rhythms, strumming patterns, and different accompaniment techniques, always applied to real songs. The goal isn't simply to memorize songs, but to gradually understand how they work so you can learn new songs on your own. The classes are adapted to all levels. If you're starting from scratch, we'll go step by step so you can begin playing your first songs from the beginning. If you already have some guitar experience, we'll work on improving your rhythm, technique, and accompaniment skills. We can work on pop, rock, rumba, flamenco, singer-songwriter songs, and many other styles. From artists like Estopa, Melendi, Pablo Alborán, Manuel Carrasco, or Fito y Fitipaldis, to any group or singer that's part of your favorite music.
