Trusted teacher: Methodology The courses I offer are aimed at anyone who meets one condition: envy! Whether it concerns a child, a teenager or an adult, nothing can prevent the learning of music. The course always adapts to the wishes and desires of the student, his particularities and his abilities, regardless of age. I am in favor of a practical pedagogy where the first thing we touch is the instrument, contrary to what is generally found in academy courses where a year of music theory is a prerequisite for learning the piano. Here, the practice of the instrument, the theoretical notions, the notes, the rhythms and the musical culture overlap together to form a whole that wants to be coherent. I am also very interested in music by ear and I propose to the students to approach songs, also without partitions, just by listening and reproducing the sounds heard. Over the years, I have worked a lot with the students to bring a method related to play to the ear. This completes the classical training by being more independent and being able to arrange yourself the music that you like and that you want to be able to play. Students decide for themselves what training they want from the start. Playing by ear is generally more affordable and attractive. Classical training is the most demanding but it makes it possible to approach a very broad repertoire. This requires learning to read a score and discover the notions of music that we approach in a fun way, using board games, card games to facilitate and accelerate assimilation. The combination of the different techniques is my favorite since the program offered is more complete and more varied. Regardless, all requests are considered and together we build a course that will allow you to achieve your goals! Update: For the past year, I have been offering distance learning courses to my students, being abroad at the moment. In this period of epidemic, this solution is good and allows to learn music, while staying at home. The material required is not very important, a computer, a tablet or a webcam is more than enough. course I have lived with this passion for music and its power for 22 years. I completed this musical passion by sharing and transmitting that I offer and this, for 10 years. Pedagogy, the art of communicating knowledge, how to respond to a desire to learn, these are activities that I find as fascinating as the practice of music itself. I went to live in Quebec and New Zealand and with these trips, I developed with my students this possibility of accompanying them in their learning, even while being at a distance. I am developing this online training project and for the moment, the lessons are given live, like a normal course, with certain modifications. In parallel, with my wife, illustrator by training, we develop board games and educational games to learn music. This project has profoundly changed the way of teaching and we are constantly looking for new simpler, more fun ways to practice and assimilate knowledge of music.

Trusted teacher: I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level (Turin)
Giorgia

I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

David

I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

Mary

Mary has been great in our interactions. At the moment, we are meeting twice a week for an hour each session. She started with a class in which we got to know each other and she listen to my goals. Then, she prepared exercises and lessons specially designed to help me reach those goals with practice and also prepared lessons to help me continue growing as a guitar player. Moreover, she goes often out of her way to get songs challenging to my level, but that are doable with enough practice. In all, I am enjoying quite a lot of our classes and I am always looking forward to them.
