Harp lessons, solfeggio and piano lessons for children, teenagers and adultsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Harp lessons, solfeggio and piano lessons for children, teenagers and adultsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I teach General Musical Education / Slofège. Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the university of applied sciences/KMC; Royal Conservatory of Music who are pursuing professional music studies, the subject 'solfège' is included in the curriculum. In the event of deficiencies in this subject, specific needs are addressed. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide the student in both music as a hobby and professionally.

Music Theory Lessons for Children and Adults (Grades 1-8 ABRSM)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Music Theory Lessons for Children and Adults (Grades 1-8 ABRSM)Translate this text using Google Translate.

As an experienced music theory tutor and professional pianist, I use a curriculum established by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the UK to guide students from grades 1-8 (beginning up to early-advanced levels) towards mastery of music theory. We can start from the beginning and work your way up, or find a suitable level based on prior knowledge. My students regularly achieve highest marks in the ABRSM exams following this system. However, if exams are not your goal, and you would simply like a deeper level of theoretical understanding of your music pieces, we apply the insights gained from this course directly to the pieces you are studying without a lot of stress. Course components include: Notation and solfège Rhythm Meter Scales + Arpeggios Intervals Chords Cadences Harmonic Function Form and Analysis My background in music theory derives from my professional musical training in the USA where I followed advanced honors-level music theory, ear-training, musical analysis, and orchestral conducting courses in addition to my regular piano performance studies. The insights provided from these analytical courses have proved immensely beneficial to my own life as a pianist. This knowledge not only speeds up the learning process for a musical piece, but also increases confidence in performance by enhancing memorization skills and providing a higher level of awareness of the components which drive musical phrasing and expression. A knowledge of music theory is therefore a crucial element for proficiency of any instrument and a huge aid to any serious music student.

Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :) For whom? - Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing. - Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams). - Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge. - Anyone who is curious about the language behind music. What can you expect? - Clear explanation, at your own pace. - Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano. - Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart. - Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...). About me I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly. Possible topics: - Learn to read music. - Scales, chords & harmony. - Form and analysis (classical, jazz or pop). - Rhythm, time signatures & tempo. - Music theory for producers/songwriters. - Songwriting. - Preparation for exams or entrance tests. Practical - 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away). - I provide materials, or we work with what you need. - No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level. 🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.

“ I had my first lesson today and I was immediately struck with the feeling that I am in the presence of a maestro in Piano playing, a professor in teaching and an extremely patient pedagogue. It was like Lydia knew me for years and instantaneously detected my strengths and my weaknesses in my piano playing and practice. I am an adult student and I highly recommend Lydia for all ages and all levels. An exceptional teacher that provides and exceptional lesson experience. ”

“ Mrs. Denise has demonstrated passion, mastery and, above all, great versatility as a teacher. She has skillfully recaptured the spirit of a Medieval song with imaginative vocal intensity, while discussing in great detail the lyrical content, linguistic nuances, and the historical context of the song, as well as guiding me through the intricacies of the Occitan language with confidence and poise. ”

“ it was all good and the kid was very happy to work with Brent. ”
