Chris is a New York City-based multi-instrumentalist. A passionate composer and improviser, he has performed as a leader and sideman throughout New York, Boston, Colorado and abroad over the past 15 years. Chris attended the Manhattan School of Music (MM ‘25) and the New England Conservatory of Music (BM ‘23). He has taught privately and within public schools over the past eight years, and loves to help students cultivate their passion for music and instrumental performance. Students can choose to focus entirely on their instrument (saxophone, clarinet, and flute), or can specifically study improvisation, jazz composition, music theory, and ear training. While primarily a jazz musician, Chris is trained in a wide variety of musics including classical, which he diligently studied on the clarinet; popular music and R&B; and world musics, including Brazilian (Choro/Bossa/Samba), Latin-American (Bomba/Timba/Rumba), and West-African styles (Agbekor/Gahu). Some of Chris's many accomplishments include being recognized as a YoungArts Jazz Performance winner for four years in a row; performing abroad in Europe with the inaugural NYO Jazz Band, receiving a Community Performances and Partnerships Ensemble Fellowship at New England Conservatory, and also receiving the George Whitefield Chadwick Medal of musical and academic performance. Chris emphasizes a teaching approach that prioritizes connecting with the student and engaging them in what they’re specifically interested in, while also covering the fundamentals essential to developing ones skills on their instrument or in their field of study. He offers lessons in person, primarily at students's personal residences, and also online via Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime (although in person is highly recommended).

Santiago tailors each flute lesson to the student's level and goals, from beginner to advanced musician. He combines a solid technique acquired through his training at the Teatro Colón and the Geneva University of Music with a progressive approach. A typical lesson begins with a warm-up and technical work (breath control, embouchure, fingering, tone), primarily at the beginner level, followed by the study of a repertoire chosen together, and then exercises in musicality and interpretation. The goal is always to help the student progress while fostering the joy of playing. Santiago teaches children, teenagers, and adults alike, whether they are preparing for an exam, wish to join an ensemble, or simply discover the flute. His strengths include a keen attention to sound, practical orchestral experience, and the ability to explain things clearly.

Flute lessons in Mulhouse – Teacher graduated from the CNSM of Lyon A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMD de Lyon), I am currently principal flute in the Orchestre National de Mulhouse. During my career, I have also had the opportunity to play in prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra of Dublin and the Orchestre National de Lyon. I offer in-person flute lessons in Mulhouse, as well as online lessons, for children, teenagers and adults, from beginner to advanced level. The courses allow you to develop: -a solid technique and a beautiful sound; -breathing, posture and musical expression; -reading sheet music and interpretation; -a varied repertoire, from classical (short pieces for 1st and 2nd cycle, large repertoire, orchestral excerpts for 3rd cycle and higher level) to contemporary music, according to your interests. My goal is to convey the joy of playing while providing the necessary tools to progress effectively, in a supportive and motivating atmosphere. I love helping flutists of all levels set and achieve their goals. My teaching is focused on building a strong foundation of fundamental skills, getting curious about music and flute playing, and learning how we can tell our stories through music. A bit about me: Hailed by Gramophone as a “sensitive and virtuoso performer,” flutist Kaleb delights audiences with his commanding presence, brilliant technique, and thoughtful interpretations. Is an active solo and orchestral musician, and has performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, and the Grammy Award winning Albany Symphony Orchestra. He appeared as a soloist and as the conductor of the Colorado Flute Orchestra at the 2017 National Flute Association convention. Awards and honors are First Prize at the Bruce Ekstrand Memorial Competition, The MPIMC Prize at the Marina Piccinini International Masterclass, Winner of the Tuesday Musical Association’s Competition, and Winner of the Baldwin Wallace Concerto Competition. He has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dwight Oltman and twice with the University of Colorado Early Music ensemble, working with Music Directors Zachary Carrettin and Robert Hill. As a teacher and clinician, has been on the faculty of the Baldwin Wallace Community Music School and The Joyful Noise Neighborhood Music School. Received his Bachelor’s degree from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was a graduate Teaching Assistant, member of the graduate woodwind quintet, and lead TA for the College of Music. His principal teachers include George Pope, Christina Jennings, Damian Bursill-Hall and Andrei Pidkivka. His other significant influences have been Brook Ferguson and Amy Porter.
