Huib - Gendringen$58
Trusted teacher: Looking for a highly experienced tutor for economics and/or business economics? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a first-degree teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass exams over the past few years! Since I'm a former economics teacher, I can perfectly help you if you're struggling with this subject. I can also help you with business economics, as my Bachelor's in International Business and Master's in Finance were packed with business economics courses. I always enjoy completing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better. By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient! Finally, if I had to describe myself in a few words, they would be: knowledgeable, calm, reliable, approachable, committed and tidy.

Trusted teacher: Are you looking for math tutoring for yourself or for your child/student, from primary school to all levels of secondary education? Then I can help you. I am patient and do more than just help with homework. First we examine together whether the problem is general or there are just a few specific questions. For some specific questions, we can probably solve the problems with some extra lessons, for example in the run-up to exams or a big test to cross the i's and cross the t's. For larger problems such as study method problems, we will have to opt for more structural tutoring in consultation with the parents/student (can be once a week/2 weeks/month, for example). I don't have a magic wand, but if the child is motivated, we can really achieve a lot. Online tutoring is possible, but I prefer more traditional methods: I sit next to the student and we work with pen and paper, with or without the parent nearby (some young people feel calmer if the parent stays nearby, others find it which is embarrassing; I'm also a stranger to the parent, so I understand if you want to stay close). I prefer as little screen time as possible, I can show examples on the computer, for example we can make graphs and calculations in wolfram alpha or I can provide geometric animations in geogebra. I studied mathematics and teacher training at KULeuven. I have hundreds of hours of experience in tutoring. I participated in the summer course for incoming secondary education students who want to test whether their mathematics level is up to standard to start a mathematics or engineering course at university. You are welcome at my home in Antwerp or I can travel to your home in the wider area around Antwerp. Please let us know if you are interested. My agenda is not always predictable, but it is quite flexible. If you are interested, please contact me and we will find a time that suits you. I will make time for you.

Trusted teacher: Hello there! Do you need help with IB or IGCSE Economics, English or Politics? Are teachers just not enough? Well then, let me help you! My name is Lauend, a student pursuing a BSc in Political Science. I am an experienced tutor specializing in IB and IGCSE Economics, English, and Politics, with a strong academic background and a student-centred teaching approach. Having completed both IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate, I understand these curricula from the inside—not just in terms of content, but in how examiners think, how mark schemes are structured, and where students commonly lose marks. This allows me to teach strategically, with a clear focus on exam performance, conceptual understanding, and long-term academic confidence. I already have hands-on tutoring experience with students at different ability levels, ranging from those aiming to consolidate core knowledge to high-achievers targeting top grades. Each student receives a curated learning plan, adapted to their strengths, weaknesses, pace, and academic goals. I have taught and supported IGCSE and IB DP students at schools such as the Amsterdam International Community School and the Rotterdam International Secondary School. Through my holistic, tailor-made tutoring for each student, I can help you not only achieve higher marks in IB and IGCSE, but also (and more importantly) understand and apply these subjects in the real world, a useful skill that will become increasingly valuable throughout life. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, sharpen your essays, or finally feel confident walking into exams, I’m here to help make the process clearer, calmer, and more effective. **Academic Results** IGCSE Economics: A* International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma) Total Score: 36 Points Economics Higher Level: 6 English A: Language & Literature Higher Level: 6 Theory of Knowledge: A

Trusted teacher: The Economics 1 course will start with a presentation of the demand and supply economic model in order to provide an analysis of the mechanisms and inner workings of competitive markets (price determination, equilibrium quantity, etc.). It will also be the occasion to investigate the impact on the competitive equilibrium of some public policies such as price control and indirect taxation. The course will then determine why, and under which conditions, free trade can be viewed as an efficient way to coordinate the actions of specialized economic agents. Through a careful examination of the (utopic) necessary conditions a market must fulfil so as to be considered perfectly competitive, it will be brought to the students' attention that those conditions are seldom (if ever) respected: the course will then provide an overview of several market failures, as well as study in detail several types of imperfect competition. Finally, the question of the possibility (and the necessity) of public intervention in a market economy will remain a central focus throughout the course. Part I: Introduction Chapter 1: "To think like an economist" - basic concepts (Mankiw, chapitres 1 et 2) Part II: Supply and demand - how markets work Chapter 3: The market forces of supply and demand (Mankiw, ch. 4, ch. 5) Chapter 4: Consumers, producers and the efficiency of markets (Mankiw, ch. 7, 8) Chapter 5: Supply, demand and government policies (Mankiw, ch. 6) Part III: Market failures under perfect competition Chapter 6: Externalities (Mankiw, ch.10) Chapter 7: Public goods and common resources (Mankiw ch. 11) Part IV: Firm behavior in competitive markets Chapter 8: The costs of production (Mankiw, ch. 13) Chapter 9: Firms in competitive markets (Mankiw, ch. 14) Part V: Imperfect competition Chapter 10: The monopoly and other examples of imperfect compeition (Mankiw ch. 10, 11)

Kevin - Brussels$73
Trusted teacher: Kevin holds a PhD in Economics, specialising in data analysis and econometrics. Between 2020 and 2026, he taught courses in econometrics and statistics at the Free University of Brussels (ULB), the University of Namur, and the Catholic University of Lille. In addition, his expertise in economics is validated and recognised by his work with the World Bank and by the publication of scientific articles (see list below). Between 2019 and 2026, Kevin helped more than 350 European and American students succeed in their econometrics courses, master's theses and doctoral dissertations (see the list of universities below). It should also be noted that twelve of his students won the award for best thesis. ECONOMETRICS COURSE Kevin helps students understand theoretical models (e.g., OLS, Logit, 2SLS, diff-in-diff, time series) and interpret econometric results in a very pedagogical way. I helped 158 of 160 students pass their econometrics courses. MASTER THESES and PROJECTS Kevin helps students build the database, write the theoretical model, and produce empirical results (descriptive statistics, graphs, tests, and regressions) using Stata, RStudio, Gretl, EViews, or JAMOVI. I also advise on dissertation structure and writing. All the students who have done their theses with me have passed. In addition, 10 of his students have won the best dissertation award. *List of Universities ---------------------------------------------- • Australia: Deakin University, Brisbane Boys College • Belgium: Université libre de Bruxelles, Université Catolique de Louvain, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Université de Liège, ICHEC, Universiteit Ghent, Université de Mons, Université de Namur, College of Europe, VUB Brussels School of Governance, Université du Luxembourg • Denmark: Københavns Universitet • France: Science Po Paris, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université Paris-Val de Marne, Université de Bourgogne, IESEG Paris, Université de Lille, Toulouse School of Economics, Université Paris Nanterre • Germany: Universität Mannheim • Ireland: Trinity College Dublin • Italy: Università Bocconi • Netherlands: Universiteit Maastricht, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, Universiteit van Amsterdam • Portugal: Nova School of Business • Switzerland: Université de Genève, Université de Lausanne, Universität Luzern, Haute École La Source, UniDistance Suisse • United Kingdom: Imperial College London, University College London, London School of Economics, University of Cambridge, University of Bristol, University of Oxford, University of Kent, University of Bath, King's College London, University of Sheffield, Durham University, University of Sheffield • United States: Texas Tech University, University of Nevada

Tom had given economie lessen to both my children that are on the middle bar school. My kids were lost, going very bad specially in economie and with limited understanding at school lessons. I decided to hire Tom, was difficult to find someone that give lessons to teenagers and that was knowledged. Tom has been with us the last months, my kids began understanding better, getting the point and scoring better at school. Sometimes I could overhear the online lessons or even 'live lessons' when he came home. Tom is great, with lots of patience, straight to the point, know how to explain, never lose the temper. We are very happy and will certainly recommend him. He is very professional and can motivate the students in a very good way. Thanks Tom!

Vladimir is a great tutor. Even though we’re both from Utrecht University, which makes the material covered very familiar, he created an environment where we felt like equals, making the learning much more comfortable and natural. Instead of just giving me answers or sets, he walks through each step with me. Highly recommend for Economics, Microeconomics and Market Failures courses.
