Trusted teacher: Greetings! I am a graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I also completed a Diploma in Music Education and Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music before coming to The Netherlands. I have had lots of experience teaching in schools and privately, and I get so much joy teaching people and helping them learn an instrument. My main goal as a teacher is to help students find their passion and love for music and for playing an instrument. I am also very practical in my approach to teaching, always trying to make things as clear as possible for each and every student to understand. I have plenty of experience teaching people of all ages. I also have a good knowledge of individual personalities and temperament which helps me to tailor the lesson to suit you individually. When teaching young children, I find that using various different games with and without the instrument helps a lot with their understanding and development. This resonates well with their impressive abilities to play for many hours every day - something which I think is very important for young children to make the most of while they have it. My understanding of the lessons is that every student should come out with the best feeling of wanting to improve their playing, and I always try to motivate every student in whichever way works best for them. I am also very open to using different approaches when it is not working for the student, and I am known to listen very well to feedback like this. I am flexible with the styles of music I teach and have experience in many different genres. If you need some ideas, together we can find the music that suits you best. The majority of students who start out do so on the violin, and some change to viola some time later. Some students who begin their musical journey on the violin go on to play not only viola but other stringed instruments such as cello and double bass if they grow away from the violin at any stage - so choosing violin in the beginning will certainly give you the most options.

Trusted teacher: Hi! My name is Vivian, 24 years old, and I graduated from the master of the conservatory in The Hague. Teaching violin is my passion and I have been doing this for over 8 years. Everyone, every level, every background and every age is welcome. I have students between 6 and 80 years old, from beginners to advanced and people who know a lot about music or people who are trying it for the first time. I play musical games, focus on musical and technical development, practice ensemble playing and teach the students who are ready some music theory. I like to look together with the student at fun goals or music that the student wants to play. All input and ideas are welcome! It is important to me to create an individual lesson plan together with the student that matches what the student wants to learn and how. I think it's important that we keep an eye on progress and that that's why a student practices at home. This is how the lesson is most useful, because then I can give good tips that will really make you better! During the lesson I focus on the musical message, but also on the technical 'tools' you need to play the violin well. Do you think it would be fun to discover music with me and to play the violin better? Come by for a trial lesson! The violin lessons take place at my home in Leiden. We agree on the length of the lesson together. Beginning students usually start with half an hour of lessons and if the teacher or student notices that this is too short for the current development, the lesson time will be extended to 45 minutes, 60 minutes or more in consultation. Advanced students are also welcome. Online class is also possible, but this is just a little less quality than a live class. I recommend having lessons every week, then you will get better on your instrument the fastest. But if you want it different, that's fine too. If you want, you can also have lessons with several people at the same time. The rate will then remain the same. The disadvantage for you is that I have less individual attention for you and that you may not progress as fast as a result. If you cancel the class within 24 hours, I still have to charge the cost of your class for reserving the time for you. Send me a message if you are interested, have questions, want to get acquainted or would like to try out a free trial lesson. I think it would be great fun to work together on the violin, discover beautiful music and have fun with it!
Violin
Trusted teacher: I am a professional freelancer violinist, based in The Netherlands, passionate in my job as a teacher and as a performer. In terms of education, I have the Degree in Classical Violin and three masters in violin playing, from Katarina Gurska (Madrid, Spain), Prince Claus Conservatory (Groningen, Netherlands) and The Hague Royal Conservatory (The Hague, Netherlands), Throughout my whole education I have always chosen teaching electives and internships. Have you always wanted to play the violin? Or maybe your child is into music and would love to learn to play an instrument? Then, this might be a great opportunity for you to fulfill that desire. If on the contrary you are an advanced student, I would love to help you build solid technique and support your own musicality. On the other hand, I do love all kinds of music. I am happy to work with you in Pop or Folk songs for example. I did play many years in Pop and Folk bands and groups when I was living in Spain and have quite some experience in teaching this music as well. If you would like to, any song can be arranged and played on the violin. I love meeting new students and helping them through their journey with the instrument. Every individual has different needs and goals and as a teacher I work together with every student, giving them the tools, knowledge and support they need to reach those goals. Making music and learning how to do it should be always a enjoyable process. Fortunately, when you like music and have a supportive and experienced teacher, helping you out and giving you the tools you need in every moment, that joy and stress-free music-making comes easily. I have 10 years of experience teaching private lessons to different ages and levels and several years of teaching internships during my studies. Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any further questions or book.

Saxophone, Viola, and Violin lessons from Beginners to Advanced levels. (The Hague)
Estela
Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!

Hello, Jakob has really been such a great teacher, I have never seen someone so enthusiatic about music...He is the type of person who can motivate you to learn and have fun with the instrument. I am total beginner in terms of music and violin, but yet the progress im making is amazing. The lessons are so much fun and i really enjoy learning from him. He is never afraid to go extra mile for his students, which is very rare these days. I look foreward to my classes every week. Overall, i have an amazing time learning violin, all thanks to him.

Violin or Viola Lessons for all ages and abilities (Amsterdam)
Fiachra
I feel very fortunate to have found Fiachra to assist my daughter (almost 14) to progress on her violin. She was lacking some confidence having moved countries and needing to change to anew teacher. Fiachra is patient and encouraging but also holds her accountable with setting her homework and checking in with her on her progress.
