Private violin lessons available for children or adults (beginners to advanced levels)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Amanda started studying the violin from age 4 with various teachers from the Sydney Conservatorium (incorporating influences from Suzuki and Alexander methods) and obtained a distinction in Licentiate of Violin Performance from the Australian Music Examination Board. In addition, she has performed in orchestral projects across Australia, Asia and Europe (including but not limited to the Australian Youth Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra Singapore and the Hong Kong Orchestra) and also enjoys curating chamber music projects as well as improvising with pop and theatre groups. Amanda works very closely with her students to design a learning approach that works for both teacher and student, depending on various factors including but not limited to the student's musical background, technique and their commitment to learning. She can guide absolute beginners (children/adults) and/or people who stopped playing for a time and would now like to reconnect with the instrument. Nothing beats the feeling of making a beautiful sound on an instrument like the violin! It's important to know if a teacher or instrument is right for you :) Amanda runs a studio/venue in Amsterdam (2 tram stops from Central) where she also conducts her lessons.

Violin Lessons in Amsterdam through the Suzuki MethodTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Violin Lessons in Amsterdam through the Suzuki MethodTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Private Violin lessons in Amsterdam, with a specific focus on the "Suzuki Talent Education". I teach children from ages 4 up to the conservatory level. My main teaching approach is based on the principles of the Suzuki Method. The lessons are tailored to the specific needs of each student, including game-like exercises and space to be creative and have fun!. I also teach adults who play the violin as a hobby. What is the Suzuki Method? Developed by Shin'ichi Suzuki, a Japanese violinist, and pedagogue who was one of the most influential ones of the 20th century. Through a life-long process of experiences, research and evolution, S.Suzuki created the "Mother Tongue Method" based on the observation that all children learn to speak their native language with ease through listening and repetition. He believed that since very young children could master the complexity of their native language, they could also master playing the violin. The Suzuki Method not only contributes to the development of the musical abilities in children but it is also a great and powerful influence on a child's growth as a human being and their social values, sensitivity, discipline and love for life. “Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited." S.Suzuki.

Violin, piano, and music theory lessons for all levels and agesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Violin, piano, and music theory lessons for all levels and agesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

My name is Mathilde, I am a French violinist, pianist, harpsichordist, producer and composer. I have graduated from the world’s great institutions such as the Royal College of Music London, Manhattan School of Music New-York, Brussels Royal Conservatory, and Paris-Sorbonne University (in musicology). I have been performing concerts around the world in the most prestigious concert halls including the Châtelet Theatre and Seine Musicale (Paris), the National Opera House (Oman) and La Scala (Milan), as well as many other venues in Europe, US, China, Middle-East. During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam. With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). Based on the teaching experiences I have, I can consider myself as a teacher with patience, motivating style and an open mind. Happy to provide references from my previous students from Amsterdam / Paris / Milan if requested. Next to my technical teaching skills, I am also actively involving in various musical projects. I have recently performed for major TV shows in Paris: Le Grand Échiquier (France 2), Variations (France Télévisions, Culturbox), and I am currently making my first classical / electronic album in Amsterdam.

Viola/Violin lessons with Connie, tailored, one to one private lessonsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Viola/Violin lessons with Connie, tailored, one to one private lessonsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I offer private, one-to-one viola and violin lessons where I encourage technical and musical development for musicians who range from beginner to advanced levels. I believe that each person has their own way of creating, listening, and connecting to music, and playing the viola/violin is a wonderful way of exploring it. Having started my studies on violin and moved to the viola as a teenager, I had the experience of learning how to shift my technical approach to and from each instrument so that I could feel comfortable and best express the music. I would love to help you build your love and passion for making music. As a teacher, I tailor my lessons to the specific needs of the individual by listening attentively and giving new perspectives to help you flourish. I look at the way you use your instrument to help you refine your technical capabilities in order to become free in your expression. I also encourage using intuition in combination with the intellectual understanding of the music that you are playing. Don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested. The first lesson will be to see if we would be a good fit and from there we can agree on a way to work together for the remaining ones. I can give lessons weekly and like to discuss when they will be at the beginning of each month.

I've had two lessons with Connie so far and find her very pleasant to work with. She's flexible and accommodating regarding the format and content of the lessons and consistently tries to empathize and resolve my obstacles with creative methods. I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning violin (and probably viola too)

Wonderful experience - Mathilde is a great teacher as she adapts to the needs of the student while also giving very tangible and well-versed advice and learnings. And super talented! I would highly recommend :)

A great violin teacher! He gives good advice and I would definitely recommend having lessons with him to anybody that is serious about improving on the violin.
