I have already finished two Master degrees and a Bachelor with some of the worlds best professors and institutions: Robert Winn in the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany), and Jacques Zoon in Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (Madrid). Since many years, I work and collaborate with many different symphony orchestras as principal flute, soloist or piccolo flute, as well as with chamber music groups and ensembles. I've been teaching for around 10 years now, in many different institutions: high development schools, orchestras, private schools, private students... and nowadays live and/ or online! I can teach all flute levels, from initiation to preparation for bachelor, master or orchestral auditions. I have a wide knowledge of the repertoire, and I've worked on it with many of the best flutists we have today: Formisano, Baerten, Grehl, Franz... Children and Adults If you have a child or know someone who has developed an interest in learning the piano, you'd like to learn it as a second instrument, or you are a working professional who just fancies trying something new, I'd be happy to get you started on your musical journey. What to expect? You can learn how to read music, understand simple music theory, play simple chords and scales, develop your own creativity, and can focus on playing some classical/jazz/pop pieces and even work towards taking online performance exams. I will develop enjoyable lessons tailored specifically to you. Making the first steps In the beginning, the piano can be very overwhelming! I take a lot of time on the basics as there is always a lot to learn and take in. I use a variety of beginner method books and resources to help you build your confidence in understanding the piano itself, developing your coordination skills, learning to understand the musical notes on the page, developing your musical ear, and understanding basic music theory. Jazz - Pop - Classical After having covered the basics of piano playing, theory, and reading skills, many of my students move on to playing classical, jazz, blues, or pop pieces, practicing scales and finger exercises as well as further strengthening their sight-reading skills. Improvising Or if you perhaps wish to get away from notes written down on the page I can help you develop your own creativity by understanding theory and applying it to chordal playing, composing and improvising, and playing by ear. Practical Lessons From the age of 12, I had classical piano lessons and have always studied the piano as a secondary instrument to the trumpet. I continue to play piano as a hobby and during my studies at the conservatory, I developed an interest in jazz piano playing. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you haven't figured this one out yet), I can give you high-quality fun, and enjoyable training in your own interests. No Piano yet? There are a lot of options and things to consider when working out how to get hold of or buy a keyboard/piano which can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice to ensure the choice you make is right for you. Online Lessons For the last couple of years, I have been teaching lots of students online. Many have found this way not only to be very suitable but actually their preferred style of learning. Sometimes nothing can be better and simpler than learning in the comfort of your own home. As a teacher, I often find the best solution is a mix of both online and live lessons. We can experiment and find the best solution for you. Lesson Location I live in The Hague and teach from my apartment on a Yamaha Acoustic Upright and Electric piano. I'm pretty flexible, so if you're pushed for time or need to work out a better solution, I am happy to travel to another location close by if it's convenient! I recently started piano lessons with Imanol, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. He is incredibly patient and creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere that makes learning enjoyable. His knowledge of the instrument is impressive, and he explains concepts clearly, providing just the right amount of information to keep me engaged without feeling overwhelmed. One of the things I appreciate most is how he challenges me in a positive way. The lessons are structured so that I can steadily progress, but there's always an element of pushing me just outside my comfort zone, which has really helped me grow. Overall, the experience has been rewarding, and I look forward to each lesson. Highly recommend!

My son just had his first piano lesson with Joel and he loved it. When the hour was finished my son felt a bit disappointed as he wanted to continue and said the class had gone by super fast. After Joel left our house my son told me he would really like to continue taking lessons with him as he felt he learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I personally liked Joel’s communication and professionalism when scheduling the class, and the planning of the curriculum going forward. I think my son will learn a lot from his classes with him.

We chose Ms. Carlotta as a teacher for our 5-y.o., due to her solid experience in music and music education. What we didn't know back then, is that Ms. Carlotta has also an amazing personality, which inspired our son, and further guided him through the learning process. Our child is now promptly finishing his first study book, and he never wants to miss a piano lesson or his practice time.
