Trusted teacher: (Ik spreek Nederlands en Engels) If you learn piano that is something you and your whole family and friends will enjoy, for many years to come. You will learn how to read notes, play from music, use both hands at the same time and eventually be able to play a variety of musical styles. Playing piano is something you do with your mind, heart and soul and it is a true art! It is not easy but it is also not impossible. Very soon you will be playing nice songs, and if you practice a lot you will notice you can soon play pieces that are more and more beautiful. Depending on the level of the student we will select the appropriate study material. Also learning how to read music notation and playing in tempo will be part of the lesson. For intermediate students more focus will be for example on articulation of melody, dynamics, phrasing and how to play in a classical or popular style. I am now 38, I have been studying piano since I was 8 and later on also keyboard. I started out like anyone with the most basic pieces, getting lessons here and there from a friend of my mother. Later on piano teacher Sherry van Baaren visited our house for many years, teaching me the basic piano repertoire. As well as several other teachers. When I moved to Enschede I studied with Russian pianist Michail Markov on the correct interpretation of classical music, such as Mozart sonatas and other more romantic pieces. At the moment I play in my own band and also compose pieces. For my work I am a teacher at an international primary school in the Netherlands so I am used to working with children ages 3-12. Four is the minimum age for piano. But of course adults who want to learn piano are very welcome as well! The times you see in the calendar might change a bit. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Kind regards, Christiaan. PS If you live outside Haarlem or further than 30min biking distance from my home, we can still discuss if there is a possibility to regularly meet.

Aron - Amsterdam52€
Trusted teacher: Looking for educational, versatile and fun piano lessons? Look no further. My name is Áron and I am a 26-year-old performing artist and educator from Hungary. I have been playing the piano for over 18 years and I have taught students of all ages, from beginners to advanced musicians. What can you expect from your piano classes with me? My main goal, apart from teaching the technique, theory and repertoire, is to show students how much joy music can bring to their life and to let them expand their own musical ideas. You will be able to discover the importance of musicality, artistry, the role of music in our life, the attitude of playing, listening, composing and experimenting with new sounds. STRUCTURE BY LEVEL Beginner* I have got my own techniques of teaching kids (lots of colors, shapes, children songs), as well as adult beginners. What’s most important in this stage is to let the student enjoy the sound of the piano, and be satisfied and motivated after a lesson. Together we will work on a certain repertoire that will help you improve your technique and hearing skills, develop your musical knowledge and creativity. Intermediate* With students of this level, we will work more on perfecting the harmony, technique, and transcription. You will learn how to improvise a more challenging repertoire that requires the practice of both technique and music analysis. Advanced* Depending on your goal, I am going to help you develop a certain part of your piano playing. We are going to dive into details of harmony (jazz harmony), improvisational skills, compositional skills, stage skills and more. *Classes can be tailored to your needs and particular areas of interest if needed. I hope you are excited to explore music together! :) Feel free to reach me at if you have any questions.

Trusted teacher: My goal as a music teacher is to make the students able to experience all types of emotions by playing music, understanding the musical process from its roots with a creative approach. My lessons are designed according to the specific needs of each student and the main objective is to guide them in the optimal direction to achieve their full potential in a fun way. Thereby, the instrument becomes a tool to understand what making music really means and will be a way for the student to express his emotions. My approach to the lessons can provide a lot of creativity, fun and originality. How will my lessons look like From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality. Playing different music genres together As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.

Aron
I am more than happy with the lessons Aron has provided for my children aged 4 and 6, who are absolutely beginners. He is patient, helpful and supportive. He is always well-prepared and tries to make the most out of every session. Aron is an inspiring teacher, who makes learning fun and encourages students, even if it means some exploring on his instrument. He is fun to be around, but above all an excellent pianist with a brilliant technique and a passion for music. Although unfortunately we cannot proceed with the classes, because of relocation, he is highly recommended

THE ART OF OIL PAINTING (one on one schilderles): Learn how to draw and paint like Monet & Van Gogh! (Haarlem)
Christiaan
I took a package of 5 lessons with Christiaan this summer. I wanted to understand how to use oil paint better. With Christiaan, we rapidly get to the point of the technical aspects of oil paint. He taught me the concept of layering in wet to wet and showed me examples of this in his current artwork. Christiaan is passionate about art and loves teaching! Highly recommended.

Natalia
Nathalia is a very kind and professional piano teacher. Her teaching methods cover both technical exercises such as sight-reading and scales, and musicality in the music in depth. It opens a new and impressive piano world to me. I really like her positive and energetic way of teaching.
