I think this kind of mentality is important when tutoring or mentoring somebody as opposed to criticizing mistakes. In my opinion, the more questions you ask, the better you understand! My teaching method usually includes introducing new theories and topics during our live sessions together and then assigning a few exercises or some homework for you to work on after the class on your own. In the next class, we will then go through your homework and clarify any questions you have. Again the aim is not that I am expecting a 100% on the homework (this could also be what your school gives you every week), but it's so we can work together on what you get stuck on!
