Unlock your musical potential with personalised lessons tailored to your goals! I offer Beginner to Intermediate Piano/Keyboard, Ableton Live, and Music Theory lessons for students of all age groups, conducted either at your home or remotely. With a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance and Composition from the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington) and a DipABRSM in Piano, I bring over 15 years of experience as a professional musician in both classical and electronic music. My performance credits include collaborations with Shackleton, Strike Percussion, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Wellington, as well as appearances at renowned festivals such as Berlin Atonal and Flow Festival. What I Teach: - Piano/Keyboard: From absolute beginners to experienced players seeking deeper musical expression, or for those learning piano as part of music production or purely for personal enjoyment. - Ableton Live: Master the essentials of creating tracks, synth basics, and audio editing/mixing. - Music Theory: Develop a solid foundation to support your musical journey. I also have extensive experience teaching children aged 5–18 through educational outreach programmes with Strike Percussion across New Zealand. Julius - Reinickendorf60€
Trusted teacher: (German version further down) I enjoy teaching because it requires a deeper knowledge of the material than if one is only performing music. I am continuously learning too. I do not think that it is important how old you are or in what environment you grew up. To engage with music as a result of learning an instrument can bring your brain into a healthy state of ongoing change. People who are "without any talent" for music do not exist. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I can teach piano: - involving sheet music or not, depending on what you prefer. - or/and music theory lessons - or/and improvisation - or/and Jazz - or/and Ear Training - or/and Composition. The lessons can be held in English or German or a mixture of both. I teach close to Friedrichstraße in Berlin. The lessons can be done via Skype too. You can read about me as a performing musician here: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer, graduated from the University of Arts Berne in Switzerland in 2017 with honors. In July 2019 he finished his Masters in the European Jazz Masters Program through the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with exchange semesters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Throughout his studies, he was lucky enough to receive artistic guidance from Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Harmen Fraanje, Simon Toldam, Peter Bruun, Greg Cohen, and Michael Moore. Julius was granted a scholarship by Lyra Stiftung Zürich in 2015 and 2016. Tours with his own bands have been supported by different fundings from Switzerland and Germany. He performed all across Europe during the past years. German: When teaching, it's important to have a deeper understanding of everything than when "just" making music. I'm always learning as a teacher. It doesn't matter how old you are or whether you grew up in a music-rich or music-poor environment. Engaging with music can put our brains into a healthy state of constant change and growth. There are no people who are "talentedless" when it comes to music. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I offer lessons with or without sheet music, depending on your preference. If you're interested, I also teach music theory, improvisation, jazz, ear training, and composition. Classes are held in German or English, or a mixture of both. I teach near Friedrichstrasse in Berlin. Classes can also be held via Skype. Here is an insight into my musical work: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer working in the fields of jazz and improvised music. He completed his bachelor's degree at the Bern University of the Arts in 2017 with distinction. In July 2019, he completed the European Jazz Masters at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, with exchange semesters at the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2015 and 2016, he received a scholarship from the Lyra Foundation in Zurich. His bands' tours have been regularly supported by German and Swiss foundations in recent years. Julius has played concerts all over Europe in recent years.
