Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I teach General Musical Education / Slofège. Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the university of applied sciences/KMC; Royal Conservatory of Music who are pursuing professional music studies, the subject 'solfège' is included in the curriculum. In the event of deficiencies in this subject, specific needs are addressed. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. Sarshar (b. 1999) (Master's in classical music piano - composition) is a concert pianist and composer born in Tehran and educated at the conservatories of Budapest, Vienna, and Ghent. Known for his original compositions and distinctive interpretations of composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartók, he combines a strong classical foundation with a deeply personal musical voice. He has studied classical piano with internationally renowned pianists and has performed across Europe, including concerts in Paris, Copenhagen, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Austria, and Belgium. His performances include appearances at the Polish Institute in Paris — where Chopin himself performed in the 19th century — and at the Antonin Palace in Poland, the UNESCO World Heritage site where Chopin gave concerts during his lifetime. It is my conviction that the most pleasure can be obtained from playing the piano when you can not only reproduce a piece but also improvise with it. Interpreting and re-enacting a classical piece gives a great kick, but on the other hand it is really useful to get a dose of insight into harmony in order to learn to play more efficiently from the outside, or to make your own variation of it. And I think this can be taught right away on the keyboard for the beginner or the advanced, with whatever piece you like to hear, of whatever genre. I like to devote myself to such a piece and bring in some music theory and tricks that I discovered in the jazz world, intertwined with the classical method as the academy offers it! As far as I'm concerned, it is precisely this combination of reproduction and improvisation that gives the pianist the ultimate freedom! To be honest, it took me many years to discover all kinds of things and now I want to share this!
