PIANO Foundation First we start with the music theory, melody and chords. These are the essential building blocks for making music. Style Next we apply stylistic tools to bring the music to life. This could include jazz chords, blues riffs, walking bass lines, and more. Skills We learn the skills (soloing, ear training, accompaniment, improvisation, lead sheets, analysis...) CVT divideds the singing techniques into four main subjects. By combining elements of these four subjects, you can produce precisely the sounds you want. You will also be able to pinpoint your specific problems and mistakes, and you can focus on which techniques you wish to work on. The four main subjects are: The three overall principles – to ensure healthy sound production The four vocal modes – to choose the ‘gear’ you want to sing in. Sound colours – to make the sound lighter or darker. Effects – to achieve specific sound effects.

Learning how to play the piano is a goal you can reach only by frequent exercising. Considering the fact that many pupils and grownups don't have much time to practise, my piano lessons are split in learning new information and also practising together.

We give guitar lessons to people of all ages and levels. Beginning guitarists learn to develop their musical talents step by step, advanced guitarists sharpen their skills by taking on new challenges. With us you will receive pleasant and varied guitar lessons, always adapted to your personal wishes and possibilities. Children from the age of 5 are introduced to the instrument in a playful way and learn to play their first pieces using simple songs and clapping games. Students who are a little older are introduced to the secret language of music and learn the solfeggio they need for the pieces while doing so. Adults are of course also welcome, with or without prior knowledge of solfège. Every musician has his own learning path and can benefit from ensemble playing, perhaps as part of a duo, quartet or large orchestral group if the student wants it. Would you like to learn piano at your own pace and in a relaxed way? Would you like to learn to play classical music or rather pop songs such as on YouTube? Or do you want to learn to accompany yourself on the piano? Don't feel like taking notes or AMC several times a week? Beginners, advanced, everyone from 6 to... years is welcome! If you are a beginner then a good dose of motivation and the will to learn to play this instrument is all you need to get started. No prior knowledge of musical notes is required. Gradually you will learn the theory from practice through the lessons. Pupils who already have more experience are further introduced to the secrets of music. You can choose how much you want to follow. The piano lessons can take place at a fixed time (weekly or 2 weekly). If an agreed lesson cannot take place, it is sufficient to cancel it free of charge at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to adjust my schedule if necessary. Are you unable to meet regularly or do you just want to take some lessons? No problem! Lessons during the day are also possible.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.
