Leen - Merelbeke185 AED
Trusted teacher: Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education) Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide students in music as a hobby, as well as in music professionally.

Tine - Ghent237 AED
Trusted teacher: PIANO Foundation First we start with the music theory, melody and chords. These are the essential building blocks for making music. Style Next we apply stylistic tools to bring the music to life. This could include jazz chords, blues riffs, walking bass lines, and more. Skills We learn the skills (soloing, ear training, accompaniment, improvisation, lead sheets, analysis...) Following this approach, you will finally understand the music that you are playing, and you will be able to apply the techniques to hundreds of other songs. CVT COACHING Hi! I am Tine, a singer, voice teacher and vocal coach. I am passionate about helping singers to make the most of their singing practice so they can thrive, grow, and become the powerful performers and communicators the world needs today. I can help you train your voice and keep it healthy, develop your own unique sound, sing across different styles, manage performance anxiety, be authentic on stage, deliver powerful presentations, make more efficient goals and help you reach them. It is possible to create all the sounds from all the styles / genres in a healthy way! CVT METHOD? Singing is not that difficult and everybody can learn to sing. CVT divideds the singing techniques into four main subjects. By combining elements of these four subjects, you can produce precisely the sounds you want. You will also be able to pinpoint your specific problems and mistakes, and you can focus on which techniques you wish to work on. The four main subjects are: The three overall principles – to ensure healthy sound production The four vocal modes – to choose the ‘gear’ you want to sing in. Sound colours – to make the sound lighter or darker. Effects – to achieve specific sound effects.

Alejandro - Ghent220 AED
Trusted teacher: English below* Hello everybody! My name is Alejandro. I am a professional classical pianist with a bachelor and two master degrees (one in the conservatory of Ghent "classic piano performance master" and another in Spain "teaching master"). At the moment I am also studying another master classical fortepiano in the Conservatory of Amsterdam. I have a lot of experience teaching in various music schools, professional academies and also privately. I have given piano concerts in several countries such as Spain, England, Italy and Belgium, so I am quite open minded in my teaching and I try to adapt my experience abroad to all types of students. I mainly teach in English, Dutch and Spanish. My lessons are focused on the individual needs of the student, taking into account what each student has to improve. Enjoying music is the most important goal in my teaching method. I can mainly teach in the student house, but I have my own keyboard in my home in Ghent Center. Online is also an option (I also have experience with this way of working). I am always available for students to send questions or doubts during the week! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. // Hello everyone! My name is Alejandro. Saya

It's been a while since I followed the lesson with Saya, but I was very happy of the lesson. Classically structured piano teaching, but with a laid back feel and a focus on learning actual music. I didn't end up following more lessons because of joblife, but if I ever pick up lessons/ piano again, she's the first I would contact. Joris

Cristinela

Cistinela is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher. She had material prepared for our first lesson but as I had a lot of specific questions, she provided detailed answers and we took it from there. Satisfied with our first class, I got what I wanted from it.

My son loved following Mandarin classes with Esther. She was so patient and kind. He would always arrive and leave with a smile and a new song he had learned. I would definitely recommend Esther!
