Trusted teacher: Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :) For whom? - Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing. - Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams). - Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge. - Anyone who is curious about the language behind music. What can you expect? - Clear explanation, at your own pace. - Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano. - Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart. - Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...). About me I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly. Possible topics: - Learn to read music. - Scales, chords & harmony. - Form theory and analysis (classical or pop). - Rhythm, time signatures & tempo. - Music theory for producers/songwriters. - Songwriting. - Preparation for exams or entrance tests. Practical - 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away). - I provide materials, or we work with what you need. - No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level. 🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.

I offer fully online piano lessons in English for teenagers and adults who want thoughtful, structured and serious musical training. My teaching is rooted in the Russian academic piano tradition, but the lessons are not limited to a narrow repertoire path. We can work with classical pieces or other music that is meaningful to the student — including modern, film, anime or jazz-oriented material — as long as the work remains serious, attentive and musically thoughtful. In my lessons, technique, reading, coordination, sound, rhythm, phrasing, memory and expression are connected into one clear musical system. The aim is not only to learn pieces, but to understand how music works from inside: how the ear, mind, hands, body and musical intention come together. I help students develop a deeper relationship with music as a living language — with direction, structure, breathing, sound, emotion and inner logic. The goal is for the student to play not mechanically, but with understanding, freedom, taste and personal expression. I work best with motivated students: serious teenagers, advanced amateurs, returning adults, and learners preparing demanding repertoire, auditions or international exams, including ABRSM. In every case, the focus is on building a complete musical foundation: technique, sound, understanding, expression and confident independent practice. I am a concert pianist and piano educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience. I studied at the Moscow Conservatory College and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, taught at university level, performed internationally and recorded two CDs for Melodiya. The lessons are structured, precise and demanding, but clear and respectful. My aim is to help each student not only play better, but understand music more deeply and gradually become more independent, intelligent and artistic at the piano.

I started learning the cello with absolutely no background in music, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the very beginning, Miriam made the process feel approachable and enjoyable. What stands out the most is her ability to adapt her teaching, she always finds a different way to explain something until it truly clicks. You can feel that her approach is shaped by years of experience and by everything she has learned from other musicians, but what makes the difference is how she passes that knowledge on. She doesn’t just teach technique, she shares her passion for music in a way that makes you want to keep going. She is patient, calm, and genuinely supportive, which makes a big difference when you’re starting from zero. I’ve really enjoyed learning the cello so far, and I’m grateful to have her guiding me through this journey.

It's a joy to work with Katie, she has a lovely personality and a very flexible teaching style. Apart from being a good pianist I value the fact that she is able to put music into context. She has the ability to comprehend and clearly explain the underlying musical dynamics of a piece, which allows her students to not only become better pianist but also better listeners and interpreters of music. Katie is the perfect guide for those wanting to gain a deeper understanding of music altogether.

Mrs. Denise has demonstrated passion, mastery and, above all, great versatility as a teacher. She has skillfully recaptured the spirit of a Medieval song with imaginative vocal intensity, while discussing in great detail the lyrical content, linguistic nuances, and the historical context of the song, as well as guiding me through the intricacies of the Occitan language with confidence and poise.
