Charlotte is a superb instructor. I took classes with her at her home for several months to improve my public speaking skills. During each session, Charlotte helped me work on my tone and delivery through various public speaking exercises. Charlotte asked me to prepare short written assignments before our meetings, so that I could practice delivering my script using various speaking techniques during the class. For these assignments, Charlotte was very engaged and made sure that the assignments would assist me in my specific professional goals. She did this by tailoring the subject matter to my professional work - mostly legal and political matters - and she pushed me to consider what I wanted to achieve from my audience with each speaking opportunity. Charlotte, however, is not only a skilled professional. She is also a tremendously kind, energetic and dynamic person to work with. She made me feel comfortable sharing my vulnerabilities, which made the process of receiving constructive feedback a fun and welcomed experience. She encouraged me to practice my public speaking in French - which is not my first language - and made me feel at ease. She is kind, understanding and an incredibly nice person. Classes with Rika are great, I've been learning with her for several months now and I'm 100% satisfied. We've had both physical and online classes, I was worried online would be difficult to learn from as it's been my experience in the past but I was very pleasantly surprised and since then we stick to online! After every class, Rika sends me slides of the new grammar we learnt including some sentences for me to translates as homework using the new and previous vocabulary/grammar. During physical classes, I wouldn't receive these recaps (which is a shame) but Rika would make me write down some of our dialogues so I would also practice writing. The way classes work is purely oral practice. Rika will ask me questions in order to create dialogue that I have to express in Japanese and the learning builds up from it. She is soooo patient when I take ages to express my sentence because I'm searching for my words or structure. Very kind and friendly too, you won't feel pressured nor judged to be proficient. Communication outside of class is clear and fast, she is very attentive and flexible. I'm a French speaker but we hold the class in English/Japanese as it's best for us both so I can't attest how it goes in French or Chinese/Japanese but I'm sure it works well too! Highly recommend!

Melinda is an excellent tutor and I've been completely satisfied by our clases. Melinda took care to understand my learning objectives before structuring are classes around natural conversation, reading, writing, and pronunciation. In particular, she prepares good (and interesting!) learning resources - Including new articles, film clips, and customised exercise sheets. While she speaks English fluently, she manages to teach in a clear and patient manner, meaning she rarely needs to switch to English to explain concepts. Beyond her talents as a teacher, she's incredibly friendly and personable. She's also shown a lot of flexibility regarding class scheduling. For reference to future students: I am a native English speaker learning French as a second language. I had an OK grasp of basic French before starting classes, but lacked both familiarity with grammar and confidence in speaking. I've had several lessons with Melinda and have experienced a clear improvement in my level and I will continue on a regular basis.
