I am a 26 year old Mathematics and Philosophy student at Leiden University and I have been tutoring Maths B privately since 2019. Teaching is one of my passions. Over the years I have often seen that many students who have difficulty with math can easily pass if we practice together enough and I explain the material to them in a slightly different way than they are used to.

I can teach you mathematics - basics or advanced. Math is all about practice and good teachers, so if you have both that should not be a problem for you. I have always been excellent in math and I really like it and I would like to help people. I can solve different type of problems and help you to understand it better. Math is mostly just practicing, but if you have a good teachers, as I had, then you can save a lot of time in that way.

I teach mathematics at all levels, from basic algebra for school students to calculus for university students. The students can choose the course to be either a homework-aid, or revision on the learnt material, or previewing on some new knowledge that they will need, or even some more adavanced stuff. Not only will I keep the student practicing with various and but not tedious task, but I will also teach how to tackle and think mathematically. I could also teach physics for school level.

I studied the University of Mathematics and I have an experience of over 7 years in teaching mathematics to children. I'm passionate about children's development and mathematics, hence I'm combining the two to motivate children and to explain through various methods adjusted to their way of thinking and understanding. Majority of my previous students were admitted and graduated universities around the world, on topics that have mathematics as a background (e.g. architecture, construction engineering). I'm currently working for a software company, but I'm willing to dedicate the afternoons/weekends to supporting kids learn and develop.

In day to day life especally in technical related subjects you will find practical use of the Pythagoras theorem. For example a carpenter when a house is being build, who uses the 3,4,5 rules to allign doors and window 90 degees straight up. How does this work? The carpenter prepares three beams with lenghts 3, 4 and 5 meter, or other lengths with the same ratio like 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 meter. How does he use these beams to align the door or window? He creates a triangle with 1.5m vertical, 2 m horizontal and 2.5 meter sloped. What do you see. The 1.5m length beam is exactly straight up, and can be used to align the door or window to the correct position.

I have worked as a high school math teacher since 2006 in different countries. I have been teaching mainly the UK curriculum. I encourage learning by using a number of different manipulatives, hands-on activities, and various forms of technology. By incorporating discussions, open-ended questions, and cooperative learning I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive learning atmosphere. In addition, I utilize weekly quizzes and monthly tests to track student progress, locate areas of weakness, and prepare students for finals exams.
