Hallo! I am a Spanish horn player based in Cologne. I started studying music at 6 years old and I studied my bachelor's degree in Madrid and my Master's degree in Amsterdam. No matter what your expectations are, I am a flexible teacher with experience in teaching people of all ages, levels, musical preferences, and backgrounds. The lessons will be adapted to the student's progress, circumstances, and requirements. I balance musicianship and fun by making sure that in each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite sheet music or song.

Hello there. I am Erdem, I have been tutoring students on math and physics for the last 6 years. I studied Physics in Istanbul Bogazici Uni, Turkey. Currently I am doing a masters on Atmospheric Physics at the University of Cologne. 6 years ago, I started tutoring because it is a very fun job to do. I liked seeing students learn things that they had not been able to learn before. Seeing those 'aha' moments when it finally 'clicks' for them makes me want to continue this work forever. Sometimes students have a hard time understanding some concepts. The reason is typically the fact that they miss some vital information from the previous topics, and they don't know what they don't know. I think my most important job as a tutor is figuring out what they don't know, and help them fill the blanks in their knowledge. Note: Unfortunately I don't speak German at the moment, (Although I am working on it) I can tutor only in English or Turkish. I give my lessons face to face in Cologne, or online via Zoom. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Hope to see you in class :)

So there really are no limits to the genre you want to learn! We start with an initial meeting where we get to know each other and talk about your goals and musical preferences. We then set goals together and develop an individually tailored program that is always tailored to your needs.

In my Oboe lessons I like to focus on the individual needs of the student, for instance breathing technique, posture, the embouchure, or finger work. I set my lessons around the music my students are learning and focus on creativity within the music and exploring the different ways of musicality, so that my students can have a wide skill set of phrasings, dynamics and articulations. I include reed making in my classes depending on the student's ability with the instrument, and I am very happy to provide reeds as well as an extra service. When I teach piano, I include a range of different styles in my lessons. For beginners, I work from various books to encourage them to learn how to read notes on the page as well as playing freely. I also include melody writing which makes the process of learning notes and music easier and more exciting for the student. I work on posture, finger work and different ways of expression on the instrument which gives the student a choice of how to perform and different ways of expressing their musicianship. I coach abilities from complete beginner to intermediate. I can work in both German and English.
