Leon Haxby - Amsterdam35€
Trusted teacher: I am a friendly, patient and professional Piano, Composition and DJ teacher from London, currently living near Amsterdam. I began composition lessons with Darren Bloom at Forest School and was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I graduated with a BMus in Composition in 2015. I am now studying for a Masters degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Richard Ayres and Wim Henderickx. My previous teachers include Richard Causton, Edwin Roxburgh, Ed Bennett, Joe Cutler and Howard Skempton. I have also taken part in masterclasses with Mario Garuti and Colin Matthews. I was the winner of the Orchestre Nouvelle Generation Composers Competition 2016/17, and the Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestral Composition Prize 2015. My scores are held in the Royal Academy of Music and American Viola Society libraries, and my pieces have been performed in various locations throughout Europe, the USA, Canada and South Africa. In addition to classical composition, I have also completed a number of scores for short films, and composed the soundtrack for Marianna Jungman's show at London Fashion Week in 2014. Other collaborators include Jeff Leyshon, Andrew Delaney, Zena Holloway and New York-based photographer Graeme Montgomery. I have been commissioned to write soundtracks for Japanese Vogue, and Cent Magazine. For DJing I specialise in Techno, Dubstep and Drum & Bass music. I was taught by Noah Priddle and Kasey Riot at the London Sound Academy where I completed a course in 2017. Teaching Experience: From 2009-2011 I taught Drumkit to students aged between 10-15 at a local Rock & Pop School. I've also been involved in a number of music courses for children between 2009-2014 as a Supervisor / Sound Technician. In 2016 I began giving private lessons, and built up a group of over 20 pupils ranging from 5 year olds to adults. Between April-July 2017, I also gave private and small-group music lessons at a local primary school. Approach to Teaching: My philosophy in Music Tuition is to improve the student's technique through exercises and pieces which they enjoy. I also provide a general music education as I believe in a holistic approach, and increasing their passion for music which will increase their motivation for practice and improvement.

Trusted teacher: Hey! I am Yu-GU. Nice to meet you! This lesson can help you set out to learn how to speak Hanyu, read and write Zhongwen. For this purpose you will study Chinese alphabet (Hanyu Pinyin), characters(Hanzi), vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure and common words and phrases. If you want to learn the Chinese language, you've found the right class! This course is designed in three versions for different kinds of participants: 1) A Beginner! - have little or no prior knowledge of the Chinese language; - want to learn how to make yourself understood in Chinese, when travelling for example, understanding and speaking common everyday words (and sentences) in diffrent typical scenarios ; - hope to express 1-10 and some larger numbers in China in speech or by gesture decently. *Some examples at this stage: - Hello! Thank you. How are you? - Sorry. / You're welcome! - I can speak Chinese! What's your name? - What's the date today? What's the time now? - I'd like some coffe. Is this seat free? - (and other current Chinese usages in any scenarios you're interested in! Definitely I can teach you fast haha) **Naturally, pronunciation and the four vowel tones are and important part of the lessons, but participants also learn the principles of Chinese writing and gain and understanding of Chinese culture! 2) An Intermediate Learner - have upper-intermediate knowledge of Chinese; - need to increasingly enhance our active language skills, to expand your vocabulary, practice reading without Pinyin, and master more advanced grammar and fixed structures to be able to make longer sentences; - interest yourself in being able to express your views on common everyday topics, like foods, drinks, gifts, weather, Chinese habits and common practice. 3) An Advanced Learner - can speak and understand Chinese reasonably well; - attempt to deepen your understanding of Chinese culture and learn more advanced grammatical constructs to communicate more specific and complex ideas in Chinese, both verbally and in writing; - focus on topics dealt with leisure and hobbies, hospitality, culture, arts, potery, history, dynasties and civilization, of modern and ancient China. ***I have lived in China for over twenty years, travelled to many cites (including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hongkong, Macau and so on), and was educated at respected schools and university. Currently I am studying Social Sciences in the Netherlands and I am a fan of Chinese literature/Japanese anime/Marvel films, so it's also welcome that you would like to have an informative and interesting talk in Chinese about these topics. +China captures the imagination with its fascinating contrasts. A modern-day global economic entity that proudly upholds ancient traditions. Definitely, a good way to start learning more about China is by taking Chinese! (K-12 Math tutoring class in English/Chinese is offered as well.)

Arif - Eindhoven13€
Trusted teacher: Thank you for visiting my Profile! My Name is Aarif and I currently reside in Eindhoven, Netherlands. I tutor Mathematics and Sciences from Primary to High School level. My teaching style is quite flexible and I tend to teach my students keeping in mind their comfort level. I provide extra exercises (Huiswerk) and corroborate my teaching with different skills that helps you understand the topic deeply. I speak excellent English, B1 (Intermediate) German and very little Dutch. What benefits you get from my Teaching classes: 1) I am not very strict when it comes to extra time. We can extend a bit. +10/15 mins is no problem. I always think that long sessions with small pauses are better so that you get the a good idea of the topic and you get a grip of the topic. 2) In the first class you can see my way of teaching and decide how we can progress ahead. 3) I would like to keep a track record of your performance and discuss with your parents so that you can really benefit from the time we are investing together. 4) I can teach in group as well as alone , what suits you best. In case you are out for a break and don't want to lag behind in comparison to what is going on in school we, can have some back to back classes in short time, if that suits you. 5) I will only be not available during month of June, its the time when I visit my Parents, so there should not be any problem of reliablity. For my students who don't live in Eindhoven, we can arrange Skype lessons and I could travel also, but we need to see how that suits both of us. "I always believe that no one is good or bad in studies. Its just the extra effort and time one needs to put as compared to other students to be at the same level."The students who need less time to understand things just need a proper guidance. However for those who don't; they could still be at par with their mates with little extra effort, time and motivation. That's where the characteristic of a good Teacher is reflected. Teaching has been a long time passion for me. I have taught my niece and nephew from quite some time and during my colleges days I have held classes with several group of students. After moving to Univeristy I was also delivering sessions for my classmates from different parts of the world and during my stay in Germany I was incharge of specific experiment for Bachelors and Masters students of Material Sciences for a year.

Aina
The english classes are for my wife who's always struggled learning english for different reasons like not connecting with her instructors or not feeling comfortable. It is incredible how just 1 class has made my wife change her attitude towards learning english and Aina is the biggest reason why: she's provided her with a huge boost of confidence in her ability to learn the language and made the necessary adjustments to make the lessons as productive as possible.

Katie Yao
Katie was a very patient teacher and gives you positive feedback with great tips as you go and the motivation to practice. The first lesson was structured and I had an enjoyable introductory. As soon as the lesson ended, I felt eager to go home and go over what I learned. Looking forward to the rest!
