Although I have a master's in public health and have a variety of professional experiences, languages have always been my true passion. From my bachelor's degree in French to the time I spent teaching English in Argentina, to my TEFL certification in Chicago, to the time I spent teaching English in Germany, to my current home in the Netherlands, I have always been motivated by learning foreign languages and speaking them with native speakers. Although I have had many positions as a teacher, mentor, and tutor, I decided to return to teaching about two years ago after spending time in a corporate job and have been teaching full-time since. I am very happy with my decision and hope to continue passing on my love of languages to my students for years to come. As a student of foreign language learning myself, I know which strategies work and which don't. I believe that all students should feel comfortable in the classroom and shouldn't be afraid to make mistakes, because that's the best way to learn! I encourage exploration while also having a solid knowledge of the language background of my students to aid in times of confusion. I have seen first-hand the value of having a native teacher for language courses, and through taking courses on my own, know what works and doesn't work for students.

Trusted teacher: About myself I am Gulnara and I am a professional classical singer. As a soloist I sing leading roles on major international stages such as Mariinsky Theater, Scottish Opera, Opera de Colombia and in the Netherlands for example in De Doelen. I studied classical singing in St. Petersburg (Russia), at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and, among others, at the famous Georg Solti Accademia in Tuscany. At the same time, I have been teaching singing to both children and adults at different levels and with different music styles for many years. For example, I also help with the preparation for an audition. How does the singing lesson go? The singing lesson consists of two parts. During the recording we do singing exercises and you learn the basic singing technique. This consists of breath support, learning to sing pure tones (voicing) and articulation. Then you sing different repertoire (songs, arias, songs, etc.) and we apply what you have just learned. I also pay attention to your presentation and the artistic aspects of singing (emotion and passion!). I accompany my students on the piano. Rianne was a good choice of teacher. She is extremely patient - and goodness knows trying to teach a slow-learner like me requires a great deal of patience!! She is also friendly but firm. She always arrives on time, with classes prepared but isn't inflexible with the learning. For example, If we start to stray away from the book a little and pursue something that helps me understand a point of grammar or get to grips with the pronunciation of a specific phrase, she encourages it. She understands that for me, learning a new language is a real challenge and my confidence is not especially high whilst doing it - and i'm grateful that she sees this, tries to adjust the way she teaches to fit the way that i learn and doesn't show any exasperation! I would recommend Rianne wholeheartedly.

I had Pratik for about 3 months in my last school year. Needless to say, he did a fantastic job in preparing me for tests, he can easily explain in different ways the topics you're struggling with. He can also pick up the tempo or slow down if you require more help. Overall, he has a good sense of humour and comes well prepared to his tutor lessons! :)

Hi, my name is Hannah! I'm learning Italian, because I'll move to Italy soon to study chemistry. Roberto is the most enthusiastic teacher I have ever met. He explains the grammar and vocabulary very clearly and focusses a lot on conversations in Italian. If you want to learn Italian fast and good, you should definitely get Roberto as your teacher!
