If you enjoy literature, history, philosophy, anthropology, mythology, and philology, these are featured in any solid study of Latin. Within 30 minutes of the start of the first class, you will be translating sentences from the above and from many other areas. There is no need to waste class time with general conversation since Latin is mainly utilized as a literary language. You can check the internet and discover that students of Latin do better than any other group on standardized tests. The instructor taught Latin at National Taiwan University for many decades. I graduated in Classics from the University of Toronto, one of the best classics departments in the world. You will be using the Wheelock System consisting of Wheelock's Latin, 38 Latin Stories and Scribblers, Sculptors, and Scribes. This course is intended for adults; it is fast-moving and comprehensive. You will be able to translate adapted sentences very quickly. All classes are face-to-face, especially at the beginning. Later we can arrange some online sessions. I am the only Latin tutor with university teaching experience, living and working in Taipei. I am now retired and have opened many one-on-one and group classes.
