So if you are interested in the Canadian culture, I'll be happy to teach you ;) I have been teaching French online for few years now from beginners to advanced and helped some students prepare for the TEF/DELF exams. My main goal is to help you achieve your own learning goals. So the class is really custom made, according to your needs and adapted to your level, whether you want to focus on conversation, grammar practice, listening or reading comprehension, it will also be adapted to your interests. All types of material will be available, like newspaper articles, novels, TV series, youtube video etc.. We will really work according to theme that you enjoy. Because learning a language should not be a burden but on the contrary be a fun time. I know exactly what it's like to learn a new language, the difficulties that you can encounter, all the efforts that are required, but also the fear of talking to people in the beginning, having myself learn English and Spanish to reach a proficiency level. And I've also been learning Korean for the past 3 years now. Also, since I have some experience in language learning, in addition to our classes, that are either once or several times a week, I definitely recommend self-study. So if you're down, I will give you writing and reading exercises to do, regardless of the level you are at, and I will correct those and we can discuss together at the beginning of each class. My name is Hicham (Here the French spelling of my first name make it sound "HiTChem" in English speaking countries - which i find awful to hear :) so the exact spelling to pronounce it right should be Heesham). And this is the perfect example that Pronounciation is one of the most important matter in French learning; not only for you to be able to understand French words and learn them, but also and mostly to be able to be understood when you speak them. Just like it's hard to understand a new english speaker with a strong foreign accent Imagine: "Un ver vert va vers un verre vert". Which means that a green worm is going towards a green glass. This doesn't make any sense but it illustrates what we call Homonymes. The word homonyme comes from Latin, more specifically as "Homos" (similar) and "onoma" (name). And it get more complicated when Homophones have the same pronounciation but not the same meaning nor the same spelling. Or worst; "Homographes" which are written the same spelling but complete different meaning and pronounciation. And finally the most tricky ones are the perfect Homonymes like:" un TOUR de magie" and la TOUR d'un chateau. (Magic trick and Castle Tower)... But don't worry - You don't need to understand what the Oceans are made of to be able to swim. And this is here I come. I am born in France (born in 1978 in Orleans) - studied in France, Teach French in Morocco, UK, Spain and Italy for Communication Business purposes. I used to teach Sales in French to Non-native French speaker Callcenter Agents in the Philippines lately. Been teaching in English. This is my first trip to Asia and South Korea. Meeting and getting to know Kay is a gift from heaven for me. Kay is such a wonderful, warm, bright, considerate and open minded teacher and friend. Kay was there for me and with me from the first moment we met in Seoul. She has helped me with handling so many aspects in daily life more than I could ever have asked for. Kay's classes are very interesting and motivating, well organized and lots of fun - a great learning experience. She always pays attention to my paste while studying Korean together. Kay has especially prepared a program for me, so I am not only able to experience the language but also many other aspects of the Korean culture and living. Some experiences/moments we have shared together: - Cooking some Korean dishes - Eating Korean food (Kay took me to restaurants which I would never have been able to find on my own) - Listening to Korean classical music during two concerts - Visiting Seodaemun, Museum of National History - Wearing a Hanbok, the Korean traditional costume I can recommend Kay to anyone not only wanting to learn Korean but more so experiencing the Korean culture and living. I am and will always be grateful to have been able to meet and cross paths with Kay.
