Hello! I'm Afonso, a passionate piano teacher from Portugal with a bit more than 7 years of experience helping students of all ages and skill levels achieve their musical goals. I hold a bachelor degree in piano performance (Royal Conservatory of Brussels) and my mission is to create a positive, personalized learning environment where each student can thrive.

I believe that learning piano should be both fun and enriching. My teaching approach blends technical skill, music theory, and creative expression, ensuring that students not only improve their playing but also develop a deep love and appreciation for music. Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance your piano skills, I tailor each lesson to your unique goals and pace.

Over the years, I have successfully prepared students for recitals, exams, and personal achievements, always focusing on their individual growth. My goal is to inspire confidence, cultivate talent, and make each lesson a rewarding experience that builds both skill and passion.

Hello!

My name is Beatriz. I am a Spanish cellist and I have just finished my Master's Studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Would you like to learn to play the cello? Do you want to improve your technique?
Do you love music and you want to enjoy it as an amateur? It's time to prepare for auditions.
The lessons are adapted depending on your level and your goals. I love teaching and I have 10 years of experience teaching children and adults.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I specalize in composing music for ensembles, soloists, and orchestra - with a Masters of Music Composition from the Koninklijke Conservatorum Antwerpen. My goal is to pass along knowledge and coach young musicians who wish to create their own music, either as a composer, or simply to stimulate their own performance practice.

I have a background of classical, folk, and various popular music styles including heavy metal, rock, pop, etc.

We can work through the development of your works, touching on relevant aspects of music history, and implementing them into your compositional practice.

I teach music lessons in various instruments: piano, bass guitar and guitar, both acoustic and electric.
I will help you and support you towards the desired goal you want to achieve! For example, playing along to songs on the radio. If you already play music and need guidance in mastering technique and expanding to a higher level. I work with everyone from beginners to advanced. All ages are welcome, children receive a discount of 5 euros per lesson!

In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard.
Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano.

At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable?
We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now.

During the lessons I am patient, motivating, encouraging, and complimenting. I'll point out what could be better, and also pay attention to how you can play more easily. And much more. Tailored to your needs and wishes.

After completing my Bachelor's degree in violin at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, I did a year of Erasmus at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, in Germany. From September, I will start my Master at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen.
Discovering new ways of learning is very important to me. I like to seize opportunities and meet inspiring musicians during Masterclasses in Belgium and abroad.
Perseverance and work, while respecting oneself, are for me the keys to long-term progress.
Learning music with kindness is the most important thing for me. I adapt to the needs and desires of each student, so that the process is personalized and motivating. Being able to pass on my passion enriches me enormously and allows me to acquire new skills as a musician.
I teach in French and English. I also have some German and I plan to learn Dutch this year.
