About Me

I am a Master program student at the Prince Claus Conservatoire of Groningen, within the Modern Music & Jazz Performance Department. I have taken part in many different musical and pedagogical contexts, such as Pop or Folk music bands in one hand, and teaching children collective classes or rather individual classes for adults and adolescents.

During the last 8 years of my life I have been focused on developing my musical and pedagogical career, supporting it by an important library of academical material and a long experience in terms of managing the particularities of every student and his/her needs.

I am an active and a determined person and I always put the student´s concerns and interests on the first place, driving the lessons in a way she or he can actually grow in musical and personal aptitudes doing what they really want to do.

Learn to Play Piano (Jazz, Accompanying, Songwriting, Music Theory)
Hello there, ever since I was a teenager I have always admired musicians in small and gigantic stages alike, and have wondered how such marvelous magic could possibly be created from their fingertips. If you are reading this, then maybe you feel the same way towards the piano as I do! I can offer myself to explore with you, with my experiences coming from jazz piano playing, how it works on the piano: basic playing skills, chords and how to voice them, playing solo lines, harmonic knowledge to write your own song, learning to read a lead sheet with only melody and chords, and so many more. Here are some of the goals that you and I can work together to make it happen: 1) Learn to play your favorite tunes on piano or electric piano 2) Learn to accompany yourself while you are singing 3) Learn to play in a band setting 4) Learn to write and play your own songs 5) Learn the keyboard skills for your home production gears (i.e. MIDI keyboard controllers) 6) Learn to improvise on the piano Now, a little bit about myself; the moment I decided that I should try for music came much later compared to my colleagues. I started very late, and thus had to come up with methods of teaching myself fast and efficiently. And I believe that my own experiences coming from the struggles I've had could be of help to you, to understand the task at the hand better and to come up with plans on how to handle them. Still, at the end of the day, progress by itself would be not our ultimate goal; it would be to have fun sitting in front of the piano! If you are interested, hit me up!

How to play saxophone and the art of improvisation Groningen
I think of me as social musician. I mostly like to play sharing music with others. My first priority goes to having an interesting/charming/ resonant full sound. Then i work on how to connect your inner ear ability so that u can play as simple as possible in a way that u can hear it before you are getting to play it on saxophone. But i am also teaching how to play simply in a way that makes enough sense through several understandings related to ways that improvised music have used before. I a mostly an alto player but i can teach to any other sort of saxophone like tenor ,soprano etc. My sound , technique and lessons are mostly coming from jazz music(blues, swing , mostly american music of 20s-60s) I assign homework after every lesson about the technique of the saxophone but also the possible tools of improvisation in music.

| Amsterdam or Haarlem | This class is defined by flexibility. I will teach you anything from inner workings of a piano, all the way to Liszt pieces, improvisation, analysis, sight-reading or arranging popular songs. The first lesson is reserved for my professional assessment and your exclamation of certain wishes - on what you would like to learn and at what pace. I send all relevant material before each lesson (including scores, infographics, or further reading material), so be prepared to have it with you when the time arrives! My mode of doing things is 'per lesson' - in other words - depending on your free time and spirit - with very flexible timing (regardless of the specified 'duration' of lessons).

I've studied jazz piano & composition at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Helsinki Conservatory, played live concerts & recorded albums with many various artists in different genres from jazz, rock to classical music. Currently I offer only lessons via Zoom-connection.* I use a camera above the piano keyboard, so you'll see my hands and the keys clearly when showing playing examples. Every student is very welcome in my lessons. We'll start from where you are in your playing and I'll structure the lessons around your interests. So if you are a beginner or perhaps a more seasoned player, you are very welcome. If you have any questions about my lessons, I'll be happy to answer them! After the lessons I make a PDF for each student about the theory we discussed and other details if necessary. *live lessons available in Amsterdam from August-September 2021 onwards. We take care of proper covid-measures if the pandemic is still.
