Translating the music from your head to your guitar! AMSTERDAM/ARNHEM GitaarlesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Translating the music from your head to your guitar! AMSTERDAM/ARNHEM GitaarlesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

The lesson can take many shapes and forms. The main benefit of learning with a teacher, rather than from a video or a book, is that each lesson can be different and tailored to your needs! For example, you can bring a song you're trying or want to learn (recording or sheet music/tab) and we'll work on it together. You can come with a specific problem like a part or technique you cannot get right. Maybe you are just in a place where you don't know what to do next. Don't worry, I'll help you set your musical voyage on course. Finally, if you don't want or feel like bringing anything, you just want to come and have fun playing and talking about music — that's also great! Here are the examples of different problems I can help you solve: • arranging songs you like on the guitar, • improving technique by playing music you like, • upgrading the campfire chops, • composing indie lines and sounds, talking about pedals, • learning to improvise, • learning music theory, • learning jazz standards, • basics of recording, making demos, and backing tracks. If you like the sound of that, send me a message! I will help you navigate the universe of music you like or hear in your head – regardless of the genre or your level of advancement.

Jazz Piano, Improvisation, Comping, Harmony, RhythmTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Jazz Piano, Improvisation, Comping, Harmony, RhythmTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I am a graduate of Conservatorium van Amsterdam in Jazz Piano. I have substantial experience in teaching beginners how to start improvising. You can trust me, I will push you and make you learn it. Improvisation can be learned if the right tools are offered to the beginner. I know what methodology works for upbringing a beginner to start improvising, swinging, and composing a tune. I can guide you through all the scales that jazz musicians use, common chord harmonies used by Bud Powell, Mccoy Tyner, and Herbie Hancock - and most importantly ideas behind them; or you might think you know scales and can't use them in a creative way, I will teach you how to make it a logical language. Swing is the most important element in improvising in a jazz context, and I will guide you on how to practice getting the swing feel, that drives jazz music. Generally, I give lots of assignments, and papers, so it would be nice if the student knew how to read sheet music. If you are a beginner or intermediate who needs a push to get to know common, complex improvisational, compositional, and harmonical ideas, contact me. If you are at an intermediate/advanced level, our lessons might be even more adventurous, and pushy. I will share everything I know. Looking forward to meeting you :)) Feel free to contact me for inquiries.

In consultation, there are many possibilities regarding days and times (both during the day and in the evening). Available for home lessons in Amsterdam on Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. I pay close attention to varied touching technique, the use of the pedal, and expressive dynamic nuances. Furthermore, thanks to my musical upbringing, I am well-versed in the Kodály method, making the connection between singing and the inner ear with instrumental technique a very natural part of my teaching approach. Additionally, I enjoy teaching you how to accompany other instruments (such as voice or violin), so that you master the basics of chamber music and playing together. My goal is to help your musicality flourish in a patient and personal atmosphere – whether you are just starting out or wish to further deepen your technique. Saxophone lessons for all levels and abilities in AmsterdamTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Saxophone lessons for all levels and abilities in AmsterdamTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Myself: I have 23 years of experience playing the saxophone and around 15 years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults, beginners, and more experienced players. I believe that, in addition to teaching, it is essential to remain an active and performing musician to ensure that the approach remains fresh and relevant, which I am. I specialise in jazz improvisation, but these skills are transferable to any style you may wish to learn. The primary goal is to become proficient on the saxophone with a strong and beautiful sound, while also mastering the fundamentals. Furthermore, learning music is a joyous and enriching experience, and I am here to help facilitate that. I am also a graduate of the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam as well as Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London). The Lessons: Whether you're a total beginner, looking to refresh your skills, or aiming to progress further, I'm here to help you at every step of your saxophone journey. With experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, my main goal is to ensure that every lesson is enjoyable and tailored to your specific goals and motivations. Specialising in improvisation, I also offer instruction in harmony, music theory, and composition. Overall, my goal is to help you produce a beautiful and personal sound on the saxophone. I take pride in adapting my teaching approach to suit your learning style, ensuring that all information is manageable and understandable at your own pace. I am fully committed to ensuring that the space is welcoming and friendly, as well as being approachable for any thoughts or feelings you may have about the lessons and your progress. Lessons are held at my home in Amsterdam Oost and can be scheduled for 45 minutes, 1 hour, or 1.5 hours. Ideally, we meet weekly or fortnightly to maintain momentum, but I'm also available for occasional top-up lessons.

Bass lessons for all levels: focus on the music you loveTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Bass lessons for all levels: focus on the music you loveTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hi! My name is Matteo, I'm a professional bassist from Brussels, currently based in Amsterdam. I perform and have performed with renowned musicians and bands from many different scenes and styles, bringing me to venues all over the world (USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Portugal, Spain...). I have a deep passion for music ever since I started playing 16 years ago, and would like to share it with you! Bass is the best! And I want to help you uncover it's full potential. I believe the best way to learn music is to study what you love, and always work from a place of curiosity and passion. Therefore, we will always look together for ways of making the process the most enjoyable and tackle different topics through the music YOU love. The classes are tailored to each individual student: we find the best workflow for you, and adapt the lessons. If you need structure and a clear program, I can provide that; but if you prefer to keep it loose and see as we go, it's all good. All that matters is your continued motivation and progress. Among other things, we can focus on: -Basic technique on the instrument -Learning songs of your choice, with a method that will allow you to learn songs by yourself later on. -Learn about different styles: Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul, Metal, Jazz... -Develop your understanding of music through the instrument (scales, arpeggios...) -Creativity, and improvisation through the use of the material we have studied together -Ear training and music theory -Rhythm, all the way from basic to very advanced -Basic compositional techniques, or fun ways to start composing I have been teaching privately for the past 6 years, with very happy students. I can also teach online if it's better, I also have regular online students with whom we are making great progress. For the lesson, there is no need to bring an instrument: I can lend you one. Looking forward to meeting you!

“ I have had 5 very helpful lessons with a relaxed atmosphere so far. Federica has directly spotted my weaknesses and has helped me to make my practice time more effective and goal-oriented instead of simply playing what I had learned at some point. I have definitely become more aware of things that I can improve and learned how to make progress more quickly. So far, we have combined different exercises on technique with music theory and also worked on my repertoire a little bit. ”

“ Our first lesson was an exploration of the feeling of holding the viola and the bow and of playing some notes pizzicato and with the bow. Maya was enthusiastic, patient and flexible in adapting to what I could and wanted to try. Her calm approach (letting learning sink in, allowing a process of getting used to the playing and learning) made me feel very comfortable and inspired! ”

“ Antonio is a fantastic guitar teacher! He's incredibly patient and takes the time to ensure I understand each concept and exercise thoroughly. I really appreciate how he tailors the lessons to the music I like, making the learning fun and engaging. I highly recommend Antonio to anyone looking to learn guitar in a supportive and personalized environment!!! ”
