I've taught with the most reputable children's musical theatre organizations in NYC (TADA!, Brooklyn Children's Theatre, The Neighborhood Playhouse) with students of all ages as well as private students and I've worked with Broadway stars such as Laura Osnes, Karen Mason and Ron Bohmer, who have also recorded my music, and I'm excited to bring my 20 yrs of teaching experience to Berlin! I teach songwriting as well, if that is something you're interested in. I'm a classically trained singer who performed with the San Francisco Opera and other companies both in opera and musical theatre for many years. Though I specialize now in musical theatre, I am happy and comfortable teaching you to sing in whatever style you prefer. The basics are the same! In our lessons, we will work on breath, correct vowel pronunciation, placement, diction, etc... as well as getting rid of the tension and habits that keep us from singing freely and beautifully. We will also work on the musical and dramatic aspects of the material we choose together, so that you will feel comfortable at an audition or a performance. A performance graduate of the prestigious Australian National University School of Music, I have a strong foundation in vocal technique that I draw upon to help students develop their own sound. I have performed and collaborated with well-known international musicians including Grammy Award winning artist Chilly Gonzales. I have toured and released music internationally, achieving acclaim independently, off the back of my own hard work. My joy of singing is second only to my passion for song-making and creative expression. This is what has lead to my study of piano, songwriting and production, all of which can be incorporated into lessons. With several, self-made releases under my belt I am able to provide students with a pragmatic approach to their goals as singers, pianists, songwriters, artists and performers.
