If you've been eager to get better in drums and therefore studying all its different styles and genres, I definitely can help you with that! Particularly, I've studied in deep Tony Williams' and Elvin Jones' playing and the main drummers of the jazz era from the 50s to the 70s , so if you really want to improve that kind of vision and sound I can give you some great hints such as transcriptions, analysis, sound strategies and many video materials. Also, I am specialized in Funk/Hip-Hop music and that kind of groovy world. So, I've been mastering a specific approach to this genre as well. About me: I've been playing drums since I was 6. I got my Master Degree in 2022 at Salerno Music Conservatory (Italy) in Jazz Drums and Percussion. I've been doing the role of Assistant Professor at KCB with Stéphane Galland since 2023. Since I moved to Belgium I had to chance to collaborate and sharing the stage at the moment with Manou Gallo, Zap MAMA, Stephane Mercier, David Linx and various others.

Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer. Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults. Lessons and teaching method: I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time. For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm. Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too! About me: In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing). I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Looking forward to meeting you and passing on my know-how to you!

I would love to get to know you and share my passion for drumming! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced drummer, I am here to help you with questions about technique, improvisation/chops, playing along with songs, unusual time signatures/subdivisions, theory, etc. I am currently in my fifth and final year at the conservatory in Ghent and have extensive experience with various genres such as jazz, hip hop, pop, rock, metal (+double pedal), Latin, etc. It goes without saying that I am open to different types of music. Additionally, I already have 5 years of teaching experience and am working towards obtaining my educational master's degree. During the lesson you will always be able to choose what you would like to learn. This can be conceptual but also a song that you would like to learn to play. So it is built on the interests of the student. After the lesson, a summary of the lesson is sent to the student. There is a clear lesson program and course, so smooth progress is assured! Does this all sound like music to your ears? Are you ready to reveal your drumming spirit? Then sign up for a half hour/hour lesson. That way you can feel for yourself whether it clicks 'drum-wise' or not.

Je donne cours en français - Description disponible en Français Do lezione in Italiano - Descrizione disponibile in Italiano ......................................................................................................................................................... The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements. -> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student. -> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor. The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages. => Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more. On demand or for advancs students: - I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student. - I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati. Technique: * Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.) * Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems * Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum * Speed drills * Military marches * Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.) * Displacement of accents and polyrhythms * On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet) Drums: * Bass drum reading and independance * Snare drum reading and independance * Applications of ghost notes * The 16 sixteenth-notes ostinatos * Jazz readings and independence * Binary and ternary readings * Coordination and movements of both feet * Dynamics on the instrument * Creation of fills and original drum grooves * On request, application of the double pedal * On request or for advanced students, readings and independence of South American rhythms (study and independence of the clave/Cascara/Mozambique etc.)

hey! Drum Roy here. I would like to introduce myself I like to share my passion for percussion to anyone who also has the itch to get started with percussion. Percussion is a collective name for musical instruments such as a drum set, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, timpani, glockenspiel... But also percussion instruments such as bongos, congas, triangle, cowbell, woodblock, cymbals, tambourine, bass drum, snare drum... You play percussion with a lot of feeling and a striking technique. At a young age I started taking music lessons at the Art Academy. After a first year of solfège I got the itch to take percussion. I was immediately taken aback! Ke Boom Tsss! 😀 After completing primary and secondary education at the Art Academy, I took private drum lessons to specialize even more. Besides percussion, I also play guitar and piano. Do you also feel itchy? Please don't hesitate to contact me. 👉 Tailor-made drum lessons for young and old 👈 There is no age limit for learning an instrument. Young or old, anyone who is eager to learn an instrument will also be able to do it. If you have knowledge of solfège or of another instrument, this is included. But that is certainly not a must. You don't need any knowledge of music to learn drums. Just a lot of sense and passion! Are you a novice? Then we start the lessons at your pace. You indicate which songs you like to hear and which you want to play. We build that together by starting with the basic techniques, a bit of theory, rhythm exercises and then moving on to grooves and fils. From the first lesson you can already play simple music tracks. Do you already have some drumming experience? Then together we look at where there is still progress and where you want to go. Do you prefer funk or blues music or another genre? We adapt the lessons to your wishes. Do you feel itchy? Then don't hesitate and start with drum lessons. 👉 Djembe is a real emotional instrument 👈 Djembe is a really cool instrument that you play with a lot of feeling. There are many sounds in there to discover. When you play djembe in a band, it gives a certain groove to the song. You add something extra and help determine the rhythm of the song. Cool African rhythms or something funky? Then everything is possible. I teach you how to play this instrument, with the right hand techniques, where the sounds are and how you are an extra dimension for the band. Do you want to learn djembe? Then don't hesitate and contact me. Together we will create a plan tailored to your needs. 👉 Percussion is rhythm 👈 If you have a sense of rhythm, then percussion is definitely for you. But even if you think you don't have a sense of rhythm, I can make sure, by using certain techniques, that you can still keep your beat. During an art and creative camp I give percussion workshops to young people aged 8 to 12 years. The aim is to introduce the young people to rhythmic instruments. I teach them to listen to a song to find out where the percussion instruments are. I teach them percussion techniques and how they conjure the sounds out of an instrument. But the most important thing is of course that the young people have fun playing a djembe, cymbal, boomwhackers, drum, cajon, ... Percussion is the collective name for all percussion instruments in a band or orchestra. These instruments are mainly accompaniment instruments. It gives rhythm to the song. Do you also feel itchy? Then don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Roy

English: As a teacher, I always work from the needs and level of the student. I believe learning music should be fun as well as practical, so I combine technique with direct application in songs and playing with other instruments. My method focuses on gradually building control and confidence behind the drum kit. A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up and technical exercises (sticks, coordination, timing). After that, we work on grooves or fills, often using a play-along track or music chosen by the student. In band lessons, the emphasis is on playing with other instruments, rehearsal structure, and stage presence: how to play tightly together, present yourself on stage, and how to deal with issues that might occur during your performance. My specific skills lie in modern genres such as (indie) rock, metal, pop, and groove-based styles. As a mentor and an active performer in several bands, I can share not only technical knowledge but also stage experience, rehearsal tips, and help with gear recommendation and learning about auxiliary aspects (recording drums, stage tech, etc). The lessons are intended for students and young musicians of all levels—from absolute beginners learning their first beat to advanced players refining their technique or bands who want to take their rehearsal and live performance to the next level. Group lessons and beginner band coaching are also available, where we work together on ensemble playing, communication, and performing.

Hi! I'm Marcello and I come from Italy. I've been playing the drums for more than half of my life and a few years ago I moved to the Netherlands to pursue a music education and to establish myself in The Hague as a professional musician and teacher. I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire and minored in classical percussion in the summer of 2022 and I am currently studying drums and composition in the Master programme. I usually focus on the technical aspects of music, but the lesson plan will vary according to the student's needs. We can get as serious about playing as you wish! So I advise you to have an idea of what you want to play but, if that's not the case, I'll be happy to share my passion and my favourite artists with you!

I offer tools for my students to develop a strong rhythmic sense, good listening skills and knowledge of basic score reading. I enjoy developing a student/teacher relationship where students can feel comfortable playing the instrument and have joy in the process. In each individual situation, I shape my teaching to best serve the needs of the pupil, will that be following a method and going every step by the book, or take a favorite song into consideration and from there build up a workable strategy. Everything is flexible in the end, the most important is to learn while enjoying music!

The idea is to provide personalized lessons and alternate lessons focused on technical topics with lessons that cover songs (or portions) related to the topics covered, in order to develop the student's ear in a broader context (even if without a band). The difficulty of the songs will vary based on the student's response, as well as the genre of music covered. The transition from technique to practice is fluid and engaging.

In the lesson the focus is on technique, speed, reading skills, coordination, all different styles and also what the student wants to play. If you are struggling with speed or if you are just starting to play, good technique is very important. Moreover, a badly learned technique is difficult to unlearn later. You will learn which type of drumsticks are most suitable, the assembly and tuning of your drum kit, the choice of heads and cymbals, etc. I can also help you with the purchase of new equipment. The lessons take place at the student's home.
