Every player is different. Some are discovering chess, others wish to take their game to the next level, gain Elo points or prepare for a competition. My work begins with an essential step: understanding your game. I analyze your thought processes, how you select potential moves, calculate, manage your time, and make decisions. I also identify your strengths, weaknesses, and the goals you wish to achieve. Based on this analysis, we build a training program that truly suits you. ◆ Why are some players stagnating? Resources for improvement have never been so plentiful: videos, gaming platforms, tactical exercises, databases, analysis engines... However, having access to more information does not always mean making better progress. Watching videos can be instructive, but it often remains a passive activity: understanding an explanation is very different from being able to find the right idea yourself in front of the chessboard. Many players prefer fast paces, whereas taking more time to think during games is often essential for improvement. After the game, they check their accuracy rate, browse the variants offered by the engine and identify their mistakes... without always understanding why they made them. An engine can tell you the best move, but it doesn't teach you how to find it yourself. That's the whole difference between knowing the answer and learning how to think. To make lasting progress, you need to go beyond simply acknowledging the mistake: understand why it happened and what needs to change in your way of thinking. This is precisely where the personalized support of a coach becomes truly meaningful. ◆ A method built around your game The first sessions are mainly devoted to analyzing your games. I'm not just looking for shots that could have been better. I'm trying to understand what led you to play them. What did you see in the position? What did you consider? What did you rule out? This analysis helps to identify recurring patterns in your game and to establish precise priorities. We then build your training program based on your level, your goals and the time you can dedicate to chess. Depending on your needs, we will work in particular on: ● Openings and game plans ● Tactics and calculation methods ● Positional strategy and understanding ● Essential Finals ● In-depth analysis of your games ● Competition preparation ● Time management, self-confidence and mental preparation I always prioritize understanding over rote learning. My goal is not simply to show you what to play, but to pass on the methods that will gradually allow you to find the right ideas on your own. I support beginners who want to acquire a good foundation, as well as club players, competitors and online players of all levels. ◆ Concrete results Here are some recent results obtained by my students: ➤ 800 → 1600 Elo on Chess.com after a year and a half of lessons for an adult player. ➤ 1650 → 2000 Elo FIDE after about fifteen hours of lessons for a 16-year-old student. ➤ First FIDE Elo above 1950 after a year of work for a previously unrated student. ➤ 1600 → 2000 FIDE Elo in two years for a young player who became Champion of Paris in his category. ➤ 1600 → 2380 Elo on Chess.com in 15-minute games after a year of lessons at a rate of 3 hours per week for an adult player. These results naturally depend on the starting level, regularity and investment of each student. Passionate about chess since childhood and a teacher by profession, I offer online courses aimed primarily at beginner and intermediate players who wish to progress in a structured way while retaining the pleasure of playing. My goal is not simply to teach you moves or openings to memorize. My main aim is to help you understand why a move is good, how to construct a plan, and how to identify tactical possibilities on the chessboard. The courses are tailored to your level, age and goals.
