Leon Haxby - Amsterdam35€
Trusted teacher: I am a friendly, patient and professional Piano, Composition and DJ teacher from London, currently living near Amsterdam. I began composition lessons with Darren Bloom at Forest School and was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I graduated with a BMus in Composition in 2015. I am now studying for a Masters degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Richard Ayres and Wim Henderickx. My previous teachers include Richard Causton, Edwin Roxburgh, Ed Bennett, Joe Cutler and Howard Skempton. I have also taken part in masterclasses with Mario Garuti and Colin Matthews. I was the winner of the Orchestre Nouvelle Generation Composers Competition 2016/17, and the Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestral Composition Prize 2015. My scores are held in the Royal Academy of Music and American Viola Society libraries, and my pieces have been performed in various locations throughout Europe, the USA, Canada and South Africa. In addition to classical composition, I have also completed a number of scores for short films, and composed the soundtrack for Marianna Jungman's show at London Fashion Week in 2014. Other collaborators include Jeff Leyshon, Andrew Delaney, Zena Holloway and New York-based photographer Graeme Montgomery. I have been commissioned to write soundtracks for Japanese Vogue, and Cent Magazine. For DJing I specialise in Techno, Dubstep and Drum & Bass music. I was taught by Noah Priddle and Kasey Riot at the London Sound Academy where I completed a course in 2017. Teaching Experience: From 2009-2011 I taught Drumkit to students aged between 10-15 at a local Rock & Pop School. I've also been involved in a number of music courses for children between 2009-2014 as a Supervisor / Sound Technician. In 2016 I began giving private lessons, and built up a group of over 20 pupils ranging from 5 year olds to adults. Between April-July 2017, I also gave private and small-group music lessons at a local primary school. Approach to Teaching: My philosophy in Music Tuition is to improve the student's technique through exercises and pieces which they enjoy. I also provide a general music education as I believe in a holistic approach, and increasing their passion for music which will increase their motivation for practice and improvement.

Reza - Delft35€
Trusted teacher: I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently I work as a post-doc researcher in aerospace Engineering faculty of TU Delft. I have ample experience in teaching all the courses related to Engineering such as mathematics (algebra, probability, calculus, differential equations, and advanced engineering mathematics), Mechanical engineering courses (Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of materials, Mechanical design, control, vibration, Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, Engineering drawing, etc), Physics (mechanics, electricity, light, waves, etc), CAD/CAM software (Autocad, Solidworks), and Mechanical design packages (ANSYS, ABAQUS, MATLAB, LS-DYNA). Not all the teachers are good at teaching Engineering and Mathematics courses and informing the students about the importance of what they are learning. That is why mathematical based engineering courses (such as Statics or Strength of Materials) are mostly boring for the students. The other problem that many students have with courses with strong mathematical background is that their mathematical basis is weak and therefore they cannot follow the course. I usually try to start my course from the basics and therefore actively engage as many students as possible in the class (even the weak ones). I also usually try to inform the students about the importance of what they are learning in the class by giving them some examples. This makes them more inspired and interested into what they are learning. If you have extra questions before starting a class, don't hesitate to ask me :)

I am a practicing artist with an BA and MA in Fine Arts by L'Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs and by the Sandberg Instituut. My course focuses on giving the students the tools and knowledge necessary for applying to Art School or for funding for more specific projects. I will help you develop a portfolio and guide in the development of the work by analysing with you conceptually and formally. We will engage in a conversation that provides the student with a better understanding of the body of work being produced and presented. The course structures differently depending on the needs of the student, and can range from exercises in theory, practice, translation, synthesis and experimentation, as well as working on presentation and discourse. My practice is specific to sculpture, installation, performance, and space design and can provide insight and tools in these mediums very precisely, but of course we will not be restricted to these as a pluridisciplinary artist. I have a large studio near Oosterpark with many tools and space for creation and experimentation if necessary. Available in the studio: ceramic tools and kiln, metal tools, wood tools, mold making and casting, and many other. The course proposes a methodology from concept, writing, and experimentation, to execution, collaboration and presentation, necessary for a contemporary artist in todays art ecosystem. We will work with context as well: visiting works, museums, galleries and spaces run for and by artists in todays contemporary environment. I have successful experience with the application system for project funding and juried interviews that we can focus on depending on the needs of the student. I conduct very different classes for children as well, in which we focus on material expression and the exploration of formal grammars, learning techniques through intuitive processes and translating the children's narratives and energy into material gestures. Contact me for a portfolio of workshops I've conducted, successful applications and of personal work. Flexible schedule and adaptable courses. I am a native speaker of English, French and Spanish and can conduct classes in any of these languages.

Violin and Viola lessons in Amsterdam with Maya (Amsterdam)
Our first lesson was an exploration of the feeling of holding the viola and the bow and of playing some notes pizzicato and with the bow. Maya was enthusiastic, patient and flexible in adapting to what I could and wanted to try. Her calm approach (letting learning sink in, allowing a process of getting used to the playing and learning) made me feel very comfortable and inspired!

English for personal and professional development or for pleasure (The Hague)
She is a reliable and kind teacher. Her lesson is always fun and easy to understand for me. I realize I became able to speak English better than before. I'm always impatient for her lesson!
