Obtaining the knowledge of drumming trough personalised ways and exciting energy. You would be given a spectrum of knowledge - from basics to complicated stuff, from written out music to improvisation. We will cover technique and playing in different styles, but we will mainly work on firm control and give freedom to your own expression. Listening to examples of music we try to imitate and learning about them is an important part, so we will spend time on that too. I will also teach and provide you with reading material, meaning notes, organised in music pieces.

Hugo, a professional drummer and composer, holds a higher degree in Modern Music and Jazz Performance from the Conservatori Superior del Liceu. My training has been complemented by working and learning alongside numerous leading figures in jazz and drumming, and I have professional experience in concerts, recordings, and projects with musicians from the national and international scene. I offer drum lessons tailored to each student, from beginner to advanced levels. We'll work on what you really need: technique, sound, timing, coordination, reading music, improvisation, repertoire, or jazz. I can also help you expand your musical training through modern harmony and composition, with the goal of better understanding music and applying it to your instrument. This will help you speak the same language as the other musicians you share the stage with. My goal is to help you play better, understand the instrument, and develop your own sound and language. The classes are designed around practice and music, aiming to ensure that what we work on has a real-world application when playing. My name is Vasileios, also known as Billy, and I am a master's student in the Jazz Department at HKU in Applied Science. I am fresh in town, currently pursuing to finish my studies while bringing a rich background in music and education. With nearly 15 years of experience in classical harmony, counterpoint, jazz harmony, and performance, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Music from the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest, Hungary. My primary instrument is the drums, but I am also proficient in jazz piano, vibraphone, and body percussion In addition to my musical background, I am experienced in Konnakol, the classical Indian rhythmic language, which has further deepened my understanding of rhythm and enhanced my teaching techniques. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in teaching, with over 5 years of experience in rhythm lab education, body percussion, and leading jam and improvisation workshops for students of all ages. My approach combines technical skills with creative expression, fostering an open and engaging learning environment. I am a positive, calm, open ,focused, and disciplined person who enjoys engaging with students and clients alike. I speak fluent English, Greek, a have a good knowledge of Hungarian, and I just started Dutch lessons to better integrate into the local culture.
